Middle finger injury 6 days ago vs today

Got myy finger caught under a piece of machinery at work and slided a bunch of skin off. Been to the doctor twice already and they want me to visit one more time. Been keeping it moist with bacitracin and cleaning with homemade saline. This looks like it's healing very well to me so I'm not sure if it's necessary to go back for another doctors visit. Any advice? Should I switch to a dry dressing?

edit: sorry the photos are out of order, the first one is today's picture.

Had an accident at work, looking to see whats best for healing

(Note: the wound looks different now, the area has a bright red blood-looking color and the skin surrounding has turned pale white)

I sliced off a portion of my middle finger at work a week ago. I've visited medical professionals twice already and I'm not certain if it's necessary for another follow-up. I've been treating the area with a homemade saline to wipe away dried blood and leftover ointment before redressing with bacitracin and bandaging, I do this every two days. My doctor told me that eventually I'm to switch to a dryer dressing to allow it to scab, but I'm looking for advice from more people on the best way to handle this. No signs of infection right now. Notably, the wound is not terribly deep, just the first couple laters of skin, no fat was visible when the injury first occurred.
