Very new to grading - is it worth it for this guy?

I rediscovered this card recently, and considering selling based on condition/value. I’ve never graded a card before, so the question of “is it worth it” is more, is it worth it to learn the grading process for this card considering its condition? I know there’s a market for PSA1s but surely it’s too beat up for even that, right? Any insight would be helpful, thanks in advance! (Apologies if this post breaks sub rules, I’m new!)

Never bought/sold singles but just found this

But I might need to start Recently rediscovered this in my collection and curious what the experts would value this at, considering its condition:(

Another post renewed my hope in this card - should it have?

I saw a post yesterday about an Umbreon gold star that was in similar (slightly better) condition and the comments gave me the impression that even with damage it still holds value, both monetary and sentimental. I checked on this card a while back, saw the ungraded price and my heart sunk. But now I’m wondering if my renewed hope is valid? My issue is this; if the card would only sell for a couple hundred bucks (USD), then I’d keep it for my own collection. But to know it’s value I assume I’d have to grade it, which I’ve never done before, and I’m hesitant to have this card be my first grading experience (I’ve heard the horror stories of lost/damages cards).

So what would you do if you just rediscovered this card in this condition in your collection?

(Reposting from another sub for a rule break, hopefully this is a more appropriate sub!)
