PSA vs BGS grading times

I sent submissions to both PSA and BGS on the same exact day for their lowest tier. Psa i sent 22 value bulk submission and bgs i sent 7 basic with subgrades. As of today psa seems to be ahead of schedule while bgs is not giving me any data. We will see what happens with total cost and time in the coming days. Im not sure how much psa will charge me for 22 cards but $161 seems outrageous for 7 cards.

Just got my scan… prediction?

I know it’s bottom heavy 🥲 but it’s like right on the cusp of 45:55. I think I’ve seen a few worse ones that are way more crooked.

I’m honestly just relieved to see it again after them telling me they lost it and having no response for over a week and then they said they found it again.

(The debris and scuff marks are on the semi rigid, this card was super clean other than the centering top and bottom).

Should I grade this?

Crazy luck. Pulled from the single pack that came with the GameStop power pack. Was debating to even grade so it looks top heavy. Wanted some opinion of grade predictions.
Sleeved and top loaded immediately after.
Thanks in advance

Worth sending?

It looks bottom heavy to me but I read that centering can be slightly off and still 10 what do you guys think over all?

Whoever can tell me why this is a 3, you're my new best friend! (Story in caption, please read)

Hello! For the record, this post is just for fun.

Back when the 151 reverse Metapod was a meme on Reddit, I walked into my LCS and saw a reverse holo legendary collection Metapod. It was a PSA 3 and $20, so I just bought it because I thought it was funny.

I attend a lot of local shows and wear it in a slab bag (pic 3) so people see it and ask me about it. Again I think it's fun, it's a good conversation piece with vendors & collectors.

I've invented a story in my head that it was pack fresh, the person who graded it expected a 10, got a 3, and then sold it to my LCS while super pissed off, only to be picked up by me who wears it in on her bag lol.

I have yet to meet the person who graded it though haha (I assume they're local, although I'm Los Angeles based, so could be anyone!)

Obviously I can see it has some whitening on the edges. And obviously I know that LC is notoriously hard to grade.

I assume there's a micro dent somewhere on it, but I've tried looking, I took it to a 200x microscope, I've had dozens of experienced vendors look at it too. No one can tell me why it's a 3. Everyone is baffled and confused.

So, I ask you, Reddit! Plz help me spot the issue!!!

(FYI, I'm not regrading it. I love that it's a 3, and it's truly a fun piece for my collection/my fave card show accessory haha. I'm also not selling it. Just would love to know if anyone can spot the dent!)

PSA Stole my Cards

I have just recieved my order after waiting over 7 months. Only to recieve 4 of the 13 cards of my order. The 4 lowest value cards were taken. I will post pics and cert numbers shortly while I wait on hold for them to pick up.

Edit 1: In total approx $9k worth of pokemon was taken. It was not the FedEx driver as he has delivered my packages for years and have never had issues even with bigger orders

Edit 2: PSA told me to submit a claim through the site and wait. They will do their investigations ans get back to me. So for now, thank you for your time. I will update when I get an answer

Can someone explain why this got a 9?

The centering looks within 55/45 and I don’t see any noticeable flaws. I have been considering cracking a resubmitting this for a while. Maybe I’m overlooking something I have no idea

This came back as a 6 with PSA…

Am I crazy or should this have gotten a little higher than a 6? Thinking of regrading it or sending elsewhere

Thoughts on these for a grading?

Im worried the cant to the back of pinkachu is gonna force a 9. The op cards are just for personal collection so if they 10 cool but im having more trouble pre grading than my pokemon cards

Reality Check?

I've been seeing a lot of similar posts on this sub and other related communities about grading outcomes recently and I feel like it might be helpful for the many frustrated people who are new to the hobby / grading for me to provide my perspective as a nerd who's been doing this close to a decade.

There's a million reasons why people get cards graded, but for the increasing amount of us who submit cards with the goal of getting 10s to increase a card's value / take profits on a card, who are absolutely fastidious with pre-grading their modern cards, and who only send in cards that they are overwhelmingly confident are likely to get 10s, still get a whole lot of 9s.

Yes, it really sucks to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a big submission and have a fraction of your cards come back 10s. Yes, clearly PSA has gotten far stricter on their grading in recent years and have been making some wild calls on which cards gem and which don't. That's why it's absolutely vital that you factor this risk into the potential reward.

If your goal is to profit, and the minority of your cards that are getting 10s aren't making up for the ever-increasing investment of money and time spent to get them graded, maybe you shouldn't be getting cards graded.

If your goal is to profit, and you're missing flaws that are obvious to us nerds who have been in the game for a while that prevent your cards from getting 10s, maybe you shouldn't be getting cards graded.

My hope is that at least one person reads this and evaluates their outlook on why they're getting cards graded and what they should expect from getting into this sub-culture of collecting.

tl;dr There are countless valid criticisms of PSA, but if you're frequently frustrated that your submissions come back smelling like absolute dog shit, at some point you have to check under your own shoes.

Base card labeled as 1/1 superfractor…

I have yet to receive this back in-hand, but I think it’s cool and would consider keeping it this way if it actually arrives like this. Cert # comes back to pop 2 base still- what would you do/what do you think I should do?
