e-Reader Centering

With the Pokemon 30th Celebration Classic Collection, thought I’d make some changes and push a new E-Reader centering mode to IsMyCardCentered!

From what I’ve been able to find, the commonly accepted method is that PSA evaluates these asymmetrical E-Reader layouts by comparing Left/Bottom and Top/Right, rather than the normal Left/Right and Top/Bottom borders. PSA doesn’t appear to officially document this method anywhere though, so I definitely wouldn’t call it an official PSA formula so please take with a grain of salt.

The tool now lets you switch between Standard and E-Reader layouts, along with Portrait/Landscape orientation, and the guides/readout update to match the correct edge pairings.

Figured it was worth adding with more people digging through E-Readers again 🙌

New Progression Labels

Just noticed some new progression labels! Got excited and thought my order was moving on when I saw "Encapsulation" but it's basically the same as Assembly

Same-same, but different 😂

Just my two cents

Finally got my site set up with JourneyMV yesterday and the money is rolling in! Almost can afford from the dollar menu 😂

Adsense keeps denying me

My site is niche (tooling site) but it does have decent traffic. I started in February this year and didn't apply until May. Each time was always due to low value content. I tried adding different pages each time around but was always denied. Wish there was some sort of better explanation than the generic help links. Fwiw ~80% traffic was majority from US with the last ~20% or so coming from other countries

Googled around for adsense alternatives and came across Journey By Mediavine and applied there and was approved as soon as my application submitted? I'm in the process of updating my site to fit Journey now

Anyone else have difficulty getting approved by Adsense but no problem with other platforms?

Any useful tools needed?

Previously I made an easier way of viewing PSA pop report for OP here

Report updates about every two weeks or so dependent on the year. Comps also slowly get updated weekly based on what cards users actually view.

Is there any other tools this community might find useful? I’m happy to build out free tools

Manual Centering Calculator

First, thanks again to everyone who has supported my free photo-based centering tool so far

I noticed some collectors use rulers, calipers, etc. to manually measure card borders, so I built a free manual centering calculator here. You can enter the measurements for top, bottom, left, and right borders in any consistent unit. It converts your entered measurements into centering percentages with a simple visual border preview

This is meant to be a quick sanity check before grading or buying, especially if you already have your own measurements and don’t want to rely on my photo-based tool. Feedback is welcome if there’s anything that would make it more useful

PSA Pop Report Finder now includes One Piece

Couple months ago I made a free PSA Pop Report finder app since PSA's site was basically not the easiest to navigate. So I built my own utilizing PSA’s data and originally it only included Pokemon. I've had a few suggestions for other TCG's and ....

Now it includes One Piece in English and Japanese!

IsMyCardCentered.com/gem-finder

Reason for this site is to easily look up the card you need data on and find out its pop report much easier and much, much faster. The gem rate + total amount graded is immediately available on every card to hopefully shine some light on grading opportunities! One Piece will now be included in my monthly refreshes going forward

Let me know if there's anything else useful I can add, cheers!

Anticipated grades to compare when submission comes back

Used IsMyCardCentered.com/card-review/ to help review a couple grades

---

I did the initial photos and measured centering and hand inspected each. Then went through the app and gave my observations to see what the models would say

The ones marked as 10, easy decision and included it in the batch to send in. I also confirmed no issues on centering, corners, edges and surface so the 10 made sense

The ones marked as potential 9-10, I felt confident enough to send in the ones where I felt the issue was small enough to still qualify for a PSA 10 (1 corner whitening, print void, borderline centering, etc).

The ones marked as 9, I'm 100% expecting a 9 on Ditto Squirtle. For Celebi, I'm expecting an 8. However Squirtle #148, there is two small print voids on the back. It's a gamble to see if PSA will dock it or not -- I've heard it both ways so we'll see on this card

I submitted "bigger" cards directly to PSA myself, then submitted the smaller cards with GameStop since it's relatively cheaper ($33 vs $25)

Posting this to hold the app I built accountable 😮‍💨

Guided PreScreen Process

App Link : IsMyCardCentered - Prescreen

I noticed there's a lot of users on here who have mentioned they are new to grading and aren't 100% sure where or how to start. So I thought I'd make a little app for those new users to help guide them through the prescreening process

https://preview.redd.it/vu17wyj46r2h1.png?width=3200&format=png&auto=webp&s=ad6ce576fc56ae738df72509031396fba9bef574

This prescreener has you upload a front photo (required) and a back photo (optional). Then it walks you through each step : Centering, Corners, and Edges.

https://preview.redd.it/hulpat567r2h1.png?width=3200&format=png&auto=webp&s=f2e7dcd17d00783c10f2b76c2613411cb0548f4c

https://preview.redd.it/c914a0j67r2h1.png?width=3200&format=png&auto=webp&s=b690bcfaa6892c4584a7aae07ea789ead84ed30e

After you go through the steps, you'll be given a summary and the option to either prescreen another card or to take your observations and pass your card through an AI Review to see what it might get

Hopefully this app helps some folks out who need a more in depth guide on how to prescreen a card 🙌

Card Review now officially available!

note: this app is completely free, just like the other tools I’ve built. No sign-up or download required. This is meant to help with pregrading, not be the only reason you decide whether to submit a card

[previous post]

[link to the app : IsMyCardCentered - AI Review]

---

About a month ago, I posted a beta version of an AI card check app I was working on. The idea was to build a helpful tool for pregrading cards, but one that works best as human-led and AI-assisted

To my surprise, over 1,200 cards were reviewed during beta, which helped a lot with refining the app and improving how it evaluates card condition from photos and user observations. I think it’s now in a good place for everyone to try

https://preview.redd.it/rkug2kk5zq2h1.png?width=3200&format=png&auto=webp&s=15b81a372c31631afdbff0217264761829679ac2

Instead of relying 100% on AI, the app lets you add your own observations before the review. That part is optional, but recommended. There’s a guided checklist for centering, corners, edges, and surface, where you can describe what you see, how severe it is, and where it’s located

https://preview.redd.it/hh49hjk6zq2h1.png?width=3200&format=png&auto=webp&s=1731f08a4f5487eb8ab76694a0c5ee2dda34178e

The more accurately you describe the condition of your card, the more useful the result should be. After the review, the app explains why the result was given and breaks down what was observed. If the model needs more clarification, you can refine the result and resubmit with more detail

https://preview.redd.it/bdrbgrcazq2h1.png?width=3200&format=png&auto=webp&s=5f56e09eb5b21b7abee276f651d4ac5ec41e7f3b

Beta is officially over, and the app is now available to everyone for free. Hope some people find it useful. I had a great time building this for the community 🤙
