One Piece 29th Anniversary Closed

One Piece 29th Anniversary Closed

Idk if anyone noticed but this morning PBandai switched the pre-order close date from August 6th 10:59pm to them saying it’s officially closed this morning July 7th 3:09am. I fear there will be no more of these made based on this but hopefully I’m wrong. It would be nice to get an idea/know in the future how many of the next release will be around like they often do with Japan

How big of a problem are the “mapped” One Piece boosterboxes longe term?

I’m doubting if I should change tactics and stop buying sealed booster boxes because they are mapped. I think that’s also a reason why a lot of collection sets etc are surging.

What do you guys think? Sealed still a valid investment or change route?

Your thoughts between sealed booster box Vs « grails »

Hi there, question is in the title and I put the word grails in « » cause it may depend on what people think a grail is.

For me it’s Sp, especially Japanese Sp I’m currently at 60% of the master set of all Japanese Sp cards.
They’re all Raw but I may be planning on grading them one day.

I’m very curious about your thoughts on that ?
Rn I can buy eb03 and op13 booster box at a fair price or I can buy some promo like the red magazine Luffy…

I’m talking long term here

Kumamoto sealed long term

Curious about everyone’s thoughts on the Kumamoto don!! set. My thoughts are that it will stay below $500 for quite some time, but I’m curious what others think. I heard a reprint was coming too, but I’m not sure if that would affect pre-eretta since we wouldn’t know if there would be changes. Thanks!

What are you thoughts?

On release the last magazine + promo was around 90€ in austria. Are we expecting the same pricing? Are you planning on getting one your self? I hope I get one this time 😭😅

Thoughts on Japanese Mangas?

The Japanese version of some mangas (examples attached) are considerably cheaper than their English counterparts. Noting the availability and differences in print volume for OPTCG JP (more) over ENG (limited print run with the occasional reprints) are the JP version of mangas a noteworthy investment? Not quite sure on pull rates between English and Japanese so happy to be educated on that. Also if we’re talking playability, I know you can’t use Japanese cards as proxies however eventually every older print card will be out of rotation (placed on ban lists/off-meta). Looking for general thoughts!

EDIT: Also tracking Collectr prices aren’t always super accurate, specially for Japanese OPTCG, it just serves as a general visual guide for the post, cheers!

If you were starting OP TCG today, what would you buy?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to get into collecting the One Piece TCG and wanted to get some advice from people who have been collecting for a while.

I’m mainly interested in cards that have good long-term potential. What would you say are some good cards to start with? Also, would you buy raw or graded if you were starting today?

I’ve had people tell me graded is the better option because it’s easier to sell and you know exactly what you’re buying.

Then I’ve had others say raw is the way to go because you can find better deals and potentially make more if the card grades well.
Just curious what you guys would do if you were starting now. Any advice or things you’d avoid would be appreciated Thanks in advance, my One Piece brothers! I really appreciate any advice and can’t wait to start this collecting journey with you all. Excited to finally get into the hobby! 🏴‍☠️

Can I file a claim on eBay for this?

I bought this OP01 Nami from eBay and the seller had it listed as near mint but when the card arrived it had this gunk on the front surface.
The original picture on the listing were blurry, and when asked for additional picture with the context I have now, all the extra photos were taken with advantageous lighting, and angles to hide this.
The card has a little whitening on the back and the photos sent to me by the seller were on a white background so it couldn’t be seen.
I also asked the seller if there was anything wrong with the card and they said no and omitted to share that it had gunk on the surface.
Can I file a claim on eBay for misleading item condition?

Short version:
Purchased card on eBay listed as near mint but card had whitening on back and gunk on the front surface.
Can I file an eBay claim for misleading item condition?

Finally finished the full OP booster set

I know I’m missing the blue bottom OP01 (working on this currently) but finally completed the set! Super happy with the out come and excited for the future. Don’t know the end goal here though 🤣

"Not for resale" but "your customers will love it".

TLDR: "Unopened" boxes from China, with Japanese text, turn out to be repacked common cards with a few low dollar alt arts thrown in now and then.

Today I learned that there are people in this world that take old boxes, empty boxes of cards, and reuse them. They take the wrappers and either recreate them or fix the old ones to look like they've never been opened.

And they insert a bunch of common Japanese cards with a few uncommon and a basic rare because they know that they are less likely to be graded or authenticated duebto lower value.

I learned this when I went to a dealer in Asia with very competitive pricing. He let the cat out of the bag. I wish I could post his messages to me but he basically told me "noy to resell" them but also that "my customers would love them". It was absolutely wild. I took a sample box to a vard show and a vendor there took my empty box and compared it to one the card shop had on the shelves and pointed out subtle differences. So I give up on that now.

2022 ONE PIECE OP01-ROMANCE DAWN DON!! CARD ALTERNATE ART

Peak card. It is a don. Thoughts? This seems like a no brainer long term hold.

OP-11 is getting bought out. Thoughts!?

OP-11 was going for around $460 - $490 a box a few days ago. Yesterday there are sales up to $560. Is OP-11 about to see some upward movement?

PC Sharing

Been playing and collecting since OP-01. Nothing too crazy but still love the manga head leaders. Nice to see so many people excited about one piece ✌️

Not in the picture -

Thoughts on these more niche treasure cup cards?

This card caught my eye at a show recently and I thought it looked so good. However I was looking into it a bit and it seems like they usually hovering around the same price for the past year or so, I guess because they are more niche cards with not as popular characters (for the most part), so only niche/more serious collectors are interested in them. They are also not as “prestigious” as the championship or regional cards. Do people here believe in them more?

Thoughts on Luffy p-041 stamp OFFICIAL SHOP PARIS

There is this card listed on card market for 1500, and there is several transactions at 1200 on eBay. I have the opportunity to get a few of them. there is only 400 in the market as it was a very limited edition.
To get this card, you had to be a new customer of the Paris One piece shop, and to participate to 3 tournaments costings 30 euros each.

Do you guys think this would be a good hold ?
