What is up with Reverb's "Most likely to sell at" price being so far below market?
I've bought and sold a few dozen items on Reverb, mostly in the sub-$500 range. Effect pedals, desktop synths, stuff like that. Before I list something for sale, I do my research so I have an idea how much to expect. Not just Reverb, but also Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, eBay, Gear Exchange, etc., etc. Depending on how motivated I am to sell the item, I usually price in the middle of the range for my item's condition. More often than not, as I'm entering the listing, Reverb's algorithm tells me my item most likely to sell quickly at ~20% less than what I think is the low end of the range. Am I mistaken in my pricing research, or is Reverb just trying to make a quick buck by encouraging sellers to price below market. After all, it's no skin off their nose if I get well below what the item is worth. Have other Reverb sellers experienced this?
