Okay so I’m about 12 Chapter in and I am in LOVEEEE with this book so far but I have a question and I really need someone to just go ahead and spoil it for me lol. >!PLEASE tell me that his parents reconcile🥺 I know the dad was a former addict and tossed her aside but like I can’t lol I love a regretful pathetic man 😭!<
I didn’t realize that I was into that but upon my fourth re-read of {Tutoring the Delinquent by Jessa Kane}, I’ve decided that I am. It happened at the very beginning and it was a minor freak out, I still enjoyed it 😅 I want to MMC and FMC to have shared some kind of intimate moment together FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME, whether it be full on sex(preferred), sexual acts, being vulnerable,etc. but that leads them to them spending the night together, also FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME. The MMC thinks that they’re finally together and that they’re on the same page but the FMC is/could be a commitment-phobe, she could think she doesn’t deserve him, or it’s possible she just thought it was a one time thing/they got carried away and wanted to spare them the awkwardness of “the morning after” 🫠 Whatever the reason, I want the MMC to wake up panicked, confused, angry or whatever, at her slipping out when he thought they’d finally made it.
I don’t recall reading many books like this but I distinctly remember reading {Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire} when I was like 15/16 and it had this big time, superrr OTT but I enjoyed tf out of it 🙂 Also, please note that again…this was 15 years ago, before anything controversial about the author was known and way wayyyy before I gave a fuck about politics and folks’ affiliation to them so please don’t criticize me or anyone who has read and enjoyed the book or will read it in the future…to each their own and all that.

I’m new to this subreddit, literally had no idea that this was a thing so needless to say, I am fucking ecstatic. I’m looking for what my title states…an unwanted, vulnerable or just lonely, sweet but gruff, MMC who’s never truly been loved and an FMC who is confident, independent and just bursting with love and wants him instantly, so insta-love on her end I guess ? I want him to be quietly/secretly obsessed though and thinking that he doesn’t deserve her when in reality…he does. Nothing super dark please and please no extreme black boy trauma. There’s enough of that in real life, I don’t want to read about it too. I have no black romances to compare it to so hopefully I get some recs to start me on my journey.

Looking for books that either have some iteration of that specific line or just the general feel of an MMC that will take the FMC anyway he can have her, even if she says she doesn’t want/love him romantically. I don’t necessarily need him to be obsessed in the “foaming at the mouth” kind of way but it a “I know how many freckles you have” or “I just want to be near you” kind of way, adoringly I guess ? A man that knows what and who he wants w/o reservation. I want the FMC to fight it but not because she doesn’t want him but because she’s either unsure or just trying to push him away for ✨reasons✨ A few books that have the specific line that I’ve read are:
{Kiss An Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips} - MMC hurt her so when he came crawling back she was basically like “fuck outta here” but on the inside she wanted him, just super hurt about what transpired
{Lover Eternal by JR Ward} MMC is a vampire warrior that bonded to the FMC who is sick and can’t believe that someone like him would want someone plain and sickly so she tries to make it clear that she just wants the “D” and he doesn’t care. He actually says the line AND says he’ll take whatever she wants to give……Rhage is King, iykyk

{Devil’s Bride by Stephanie Laurens} He literally recuses her and decides to keep her until she comes to her senses 🤷🏾♀️
{Devil Mine by Khai Hara} he was actually obsessed with her but I loved the MMC so much in this one

All in need in this life of sin…are good mutually obsessed, devoted MCs with stalker vibes 😭 I’m not asking for too much am I ? I know people either love or hate these books but they are like crack to me, I love a stalker-ish, overly obsessed MMC or FMC but I rarely see the ladder so I knew I was going to love this book, {The Wrong Catch by C.R. Jane}, and it did not disappoint. I LOVED the FMC, I was reading just thinking to myself, “this bitch is nuts” but ouuuuuu I just loved her so much, she was adorable (for bookland standards of course) and I need more. I’m looking for more MCs like Ophelia and I guess Matty, in the sense that he absolutely loves it, as well but mainly Ophelia 🙂. It can be the FMC or MMC that’s like that, though I doubt I’ll get any FMCs as I feel like they are few and far between and I’ve read the more popular ones. I want stalker vibes or just super duper “can’t think straight”without him/her, obsessed vibes. For example:
{When a Girl Loves an Earl by Elisa Braden} beautiful FMC and determined, we love to see it
{To Tame a Save Heart by Emma V. Leech} I loved the FMC, she would not rest until she secured her man, I support it. They need a little push sometimes 🤷🏾♀️
{Garters by Pamela Morsi} the OG stalker 😭 again, we LOVE to see it
{Dreaming by Jill Barnett} the girl was insane but we love an obsessed girly, am I right ????
{Playing for Keeps Series by J.C. Grant} I loved the MMC, idc. Sometimes a good dicking is all the convincing needed, I guess
{Fairytale Green by Kayla Silvers}…YES..enough said
{Reckless Miles} the MMC kinda annoyed me a bit by how childlike he was but I loved how devoted and obsessed he was with the FMC
