Having to PR Scripts

How do some of these systems let prescribers e-scribe with completely wrong directions ? Do you know how many times since the first of the year that I have had to PR a script for GLP-1's alone because the prescriber writes for it to be injected DAILY? Sure, you want the patient to go through a months supply in 4 days ? Or a 3 months supply in less than 2 weeks ?

Cue the "Can't you just fill what my doctor wrote ?" Absolutely not!

Breaks

I love that when I ask if I can take a 15 (when I'm working 8+ hours) which I rarely ask, I get the response "If you need to" in a tone that it's bothersome. I'm not asking for anything special/extra. It's literally part of company policy. We've just created this work environment where it's treated like it's a special ask.

Readyfill

Can I say one thing that drives me nuts about readyfill?

I understand once you hit those scripts in queue and batch print it tries to print stuff together. Like groups of certain drugs (fast movers) or like drugs. However I have noticed that even with that, it places a lot of the high counts of drugs at the end of the queue. So by the end of the night when you are trying to finish you end up with multiple scripts of pills in the hundreds. It's not bad when it's like 270 of something small like propranolol. But when you have stuff that's 450 metformin or 720 muscle relaxers it slows you down. The worst non-readyfill one for me though was 600ish lomotil. A patient expedited it less than 15 minutes before close and it's a control so it's supposed to be double counted.

I used to work with a tech who would start from the back of queue and do those high counts so they were not left for the night shift. (They were day/mid).

Backend coupons through insurance

I've noticed on some brand name products that there will be a coupon applied through the patients insurance. It will say how much insurance paid and then coupon underneath, showing "Coupon Amount" which is (I assume) from an agreement between the manufacturer and the insurance. However, patients want to add a copay card and you cannot as it sees the coupon and will not work with it on there. (The rejection says something like no further evoucher benefits and to reverse the primary claim). Is there any way to remove the coupon that the insurance has applied at store level or can they only be done by the insurance company? For some drugs, the insurance plus copay card is a lot better price than the coupon the insurance added. It's mostly (but not exclusively) GLP-1 drugs. But I have seen it on Xidra and a few other things too.

Edit: Also on some insurances it's cheaper to use the copay card without insurance. I've seen at least one where if you used a copay card with the insurance, insurance would only cover like $50 of the cost.

Maybe it's just my store but I swear when it comes to sick time/leaving early/etc people are so quick to give you a point/half a point on the attendance tracker, but have no problem asking you to come in early/on your day off/etc. I worked 6 days a week for multiple weeks in a row due to call outs, but if I need to leave early and we are in a good spot and staffed, it's gonna be half a point. Like, the sword cuts both ways. I've started to say no. You want me to be flexible, you need to be a little flexible too.
