Who makes riveted brake shoes?
‘70 Bay Window. Just had low-mileage lining come unglued from rear brake shoe. SECOND time this has happened.
Is there a brake manufacturer that still uses rivets to hold the lining on? I’m willing to pay more at this point. It’s a scary thing to have the lining lock your wheel up while driving!
Oh, and I was recently told not to leave the bus parked with the parking brake on for extended periods, so I will try to avoid that going forward.
Voltage of this old wall ringer?
Demo guys put this in the dump pile, but it’s way too awesome. Anyone familiar with old Bell Telephone standards? I want to hook it up to a button for shop deliveries, but I don’t want to fry it!
Homeowner fights back after HOA imposes strict rules: 'That law needs to be better'
She replaced her lawn with wildlife-friendly native plants, and the HOA changed the rules so they could start charging her fines.
Where can I donate used CPAP?
Cleaning out mother-in-law’s house, we found her Philips Resipironics System One CPAP in a box marked “Return” (all parts are there).
We could not find out who supplied the machine; the doctor who prescribed has moved, and her filing system was impossible.
Checked eBay, eventually learning it’s illegal for me to sell this. What a load of crap. Anyway, local medical equipment place that takes donations EXCLUDES used CPAP machines.
Does anyone know of a medical charity group that could get this to someone who can use it? Seems the manufacturers are charging people ridiculous amounts!
Hate to send expensive, working stuff to landfill.
Thx
Mini router after fiber ONT?
I ran a couple ethernet cables from a data box in the garage to jacks at the front of the house (attic) to the back of the house (basement). I got a data patch panel from Leviton that snaps into their data panel.
What I didn’t understand is that the patch panel jacks are not interconnected! I thought I could take the cord from the ONT and plug it into any of the jacks in the patch panel, and it would heat up all of the punchdown connections for my two CAT6 cables. It turns out each jack is only connected to one punchdown block. I am not a network person, obviously.
So I think I need to install a small wired-only router inside the data box.
First, is this what I should be doing? Second, is there a tiny router that would fit into the 3” deep data box that anyone could recommend?
Third, would it make sense to get rid of the patch panel completely and just put plugs on the two ethernet cables?
Thanks
