Help! I don’t want to cut in the wrong place… this would be the first big chop on this baby Banyan Tree

So the first pic is when I brought it home Dec of 2025. Very cute but it has grown quite a bit and I want to start giving it opportunities to branch..

The second pic is what it looks like today Aug 2026

Which section should I chop; red, orange or blue? Then which portion in the desired section should I cut?

Final question can I water propagate the stem that has been pruned?

Tree down during a storm. Can it be saved?

So my trees came down during a storm this past weekend. Can they be put back safely?

Also why are the roots so shallow? I assumed trees would have roots several feet deep. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks everyone.
