Quintorius, History Chaser and Spell with Flashback needing a target
Hey everyone, I know there are some questions around the new [[Quintorius, History Chaser]] in this reddit, but I haven't found this one. And I wanted to see if my understanding of the rules and especially the process of casting a spell are correct. So, the setup is as follows:
I have a [[Qunitorius, History Chaser]] on the battlefield. There are no creatures on the battlefield. I want to cast [[Practiced Offense]] from my gravyard with Flashback.
Practiced Offense needs two targets: a player (me for example) and a creature (currently none on the board).
Casting a spell means: 1. moving it to the stack 2. choosing modes 3. announcing targets (and some more...) n. paying the cost
Since moving the spell from the graveyard to the stack would trigger Qunitorius it would give me a creature in form of a spirit token. But the creature won't exist in time to cast Practiced Offense in the first place, correct? Meaning, there is no strange timing in which I announce the spell, move it to the stack, get the creature and after that can choose the creature as a legal target for the spell, correct?
