Crown Recommendations
TLDR: Telescope or Fedora crown for a daily driver hat that’s occasionally worn with more formal attire.
I recently purchased my first full brim hat. It’s a wool felt that wasn’t overly expensive but was quite dear for me. My issue is, I have an obscenely large head. Because of that, I could only find one hat in my price range that was my size. It’s being shipped to me with a cattleman crown. I have no beef with the cattleman style but it’s not really what I’m looking for. I want it reshaped but can’t decide between a pinched fedora crown and a telescope style crown. The hat will be a daily driver for me while working and hiking but I would like if it could also serve as headwear in slightly more formal settings. I almost never have occasion for truly formal dress, but something that could be worn to church events or dinner without seeming too rough around the edges would be ideal. Any opinion is appreciated, I have absolutely no fashion sense.
