not eating

not eating

hello! i posted a few weeks ago about the fact that im going on holidays for 12 days and have no one to watch my little man.

my family isnt even willing to drop a worm in occasionally, i was told 12 days without food was no problem, but im a little paranoid god forbid. just wondering if anyone has done something similar and if their lotl was all okay? he’s a very good eater and ive never had any problems with him eating (knock on wood) so im worried that when i get back he’ll have a different attitude. i am also worried about the waste build up with 12 days no monitoring. he probably poops once every 9 days ish. the tank is planted but not heavily, 3 java ferns, a marimo moss ball, drift wood with another live plant (i have no clue what it is) and hornwort. 1 HOB filter, 1 sponge filter and an air stone.

i cant get ghost shrimp or any similar live food because i dont have time to quarantine anything, (i leave in 3 weeks).

tank is 150L, fully cycled and i have a chiller keeping it at 16 degrees. i dont know how old he is, ive had him since december when he was about 10cm long but he is roughly 20cm long now.

big water change and feed the day i leave and he should be fine? not worth the risk?? any opinions or other ideas much appreciated.

hello!
i’m on holidays for 13 days next month and have no one willing to take care of gilbert :(

my family can drop a worm in the tank, but aren’t willing to put their hand in there to clean poop.

last time i asked i was told 2 weeks without food is fine, but i’ve read a lot of mixed opinions on how long is *too* long without eating. i am also slightly concerned that he’ll go off nightcrawlers if he does go that long without it. currently he gets fed one nightcrawler every 2 days. obviously i don’t want them feeding if no one is cleaning waste.

tank is fully cycled, there is a chiller installed, and he is a chunky boy already.

keen for opinions on what to do :)
