Boarding the Tantive IV - Part 1

From the boarding the tantive IV set with a few extra figures to try and recreate some of those opening scenes.

Shot on a canon eosr5 with a 100mm macro lens, color correction and dust removal done in lightroom - those macro lenses catch every little spec of anything!

Still got a few more in the works for this set, coming soon!

Battle of Tantive IV - Part 1

A few shots I've taken over the last week or so, just didn't have much time to upload with a trip to Vegas then straight back to work.

I have a few more in the works I still need to take for this little series!

C-3PO: Disney+ Star Wars Intro Style

The struggle was real trying to get this shot. I got as close as my lens would allow me to and had to encase the blue LED in a cardstock box I made on the fly. The red light is actually coming from my shorts, I accidentally turned on the flashlight while setting up and noticed it started reflecting on the figure, so I just went with it. Setup shot is of another figure I'm still working on.

Shot Details:

  • Canon EOS R5
  • RF100mm F2.8 L MACRO IS USM
  • Shutter Speed: 30 seconds
  • Aperture: F/22
  • ISO: 4000

Using the force...

Shot details:

  • Camera: Canon EOS R5
  • Lens: RF100mm F2.8 L Macro IS USM
  • Shutter Speed: 3.2 seconds
  • Aperture: f/22
  • ISO: 1600

I was trying trying to recreate the scene where Yoda uses the force to lift the X-Wing from the swamp in Dagobah. Setup is in the last photo, forgot to take one with the lights up, but there was a green LED on the left, a blue one on the right, and an orange one in front mostly pointing down, just enough to light up Luke but not the X-Wing.

The X-Wing was hanging from a ceiling lamp with some thread that I removed in Lightroom, the thing toppled over once and I had to set everything back up, luckily the drop was low enough that no LEGO had to be reassembled, at least. And fog! It used so much that I needed more putty to keep Luke in place because the surface got really wet.

The minifigures are actually a little sharper in the image but had to reduce the size so it would let me post onto Reddit and it's not as sharp, still captures the vibe though, I hope :)

A rough landing for Luke and R2D2...

Shot details:

  • Camera: Canon EOS R5
  • Lens: RF24mm F1.8 Macro IS STM
  • Shutter Speed: 4/5 sec
  • Aperture: f/4.0
  • ISO: 800

I was going for when Luke was walking down from the ship, but couldn't quite get the focus I was looking for from that angle, still happy with it. 😄

Trying to get some cinematic looking shots with a few LEDs, pet store aquarium props, fog machine, and a black acrylic. Edits in lightroom mostly to color, minor removals, and to blur out the foreground props.

Straight out of camera shot included, honestly loved the colors but wanted something a little more subdued.
