Eliminated dairy, baby is fussier?

I have a 10 week old, exclusively breastfed baby boy. He has had significant gas and more than normal spitting up and recently frequent poops that are occasionally green. His pediatrician suggested I try eliminating dairy for a few weeks. After the first few days his poop is slightly less frequent and a little more yellow than green now but he has suddenly become much fussier throughout the day.

He has not had any visible blood in diapers, no skin symptoms and sleeps a 5 hour stretch regularly at night and is easy to get back down after feeding. Weight gain has always been on track at appointments.

Could it still be a dairy allergy? Am I just making both of us miserable by eliminating it from my diet? His pediatrician is not overly concerned since he has been gaining weight.
