Corporate to Entrepreneurship: What’s your honest POV after making the leap?

I have always had an entrepreneurial itch and have dabbled a bit outside of my day job, but have spent 15+ years in corporate and never made the leap to turn any of those into something real.

I’m at a juncture (driven by personal life) where I’m really craving ownership of my time. I’m considering leaving to create a consultative offering, aligned to my corporate skill set.

I’m a risk averse person but very burnt out and pining for more time with my family during this life stage. I am seriously considering making the leap, but am afraid I’m glamorizing it and will regret leaving the stability (soul-sucking and time intensive as it may be).

People typically only share the success stories and “wish I’d done it sooner!” If you’ve made the jump - either recently or in the past - I’d love to hear how it’s going and if you are happy with the choice and if there is anything you wish you had known in my shoes.

Thank you! 🩷

New to Monsteras - thoughts?

I have been wanting to get a small Monstera and work on growing it as I love the aesthetic of the giant fenestrated leaves. Then I was at Publix and randomly outside the store along an exterior wall was this lone giant Monstera for 29.99. It’s not in the best condition/a little wild but for the size and price I took a leap on it. But I have no clue what I’m doing 🙃 and now have a mature one on my hands that needs some TLC. Attaching a bunch of pictures. Where would you start? Moss pole, repot, should I trim back the rougher leaves? And per the earlier comment on “I have no idea what I’m doing” I welcome specific instructions along with the ideas because I really have no idea what I’m doing 😅
Thank you Reddit! 💚

First time propagation - next step advice

Hello! First time propagation attempt here. I overzealously included two nodes in the propgation attempt - in hindsight I’m not sure why, I just was really trying to go above and beyond I guess 😂
It’s been about two months and the roots look awesome and ready (at least to my novice eyes). I’ve read it’s best to start with really watery soil to help it transition from water into soil. Any expert takes on that? And for how long?
And then given the unique situation I’ve created with the two nodes… any advice how to proceed? Do I bury both in soil? Is it possible to split into two without leaves?
Thanks in advance! 🌱

Are the roots ok?

First ever propagation attempt. I cut this over a month ago. Was so pleased with the early results but was leaving in water to grow the roots longer (saw I should let the roots grow extra strands off them). At that time though the roots were white and juicy. Now they’ve turned brown and are sort of shriveled. Did something go wrong or is this still healthy? The leaves of the cutting still going strong (second photo). Thank you!
