Hi everyone,

in case anyone else has the same problem where the charging LED on their 3DS XL has been corroded.

In my case, the bottom part of the LED and the entire contact surface of the pad were corroded, so the LED didn't light up during charging.

t's a 0603 SMD LED.

1. Remove the LED with a soldering iron.

2. Seal the bottom pad with UV solder mask.

3. Add new solder to the top pad.

4. Solder a thin wire to the bottom contact of the LED.

5. Connect the bottom part of the LED to the D1 Diode

The bottom pad is NOT ground!!!

Maybe this will help someone else who has the same problem. I had to search the entire motherboard with my multimeter until I found the right spot.
