Neo 2 vs Flip - specifically over water and use on boats

Hi, I want to buy a DJI drone for filming primarily beach shots but also a large number of shots from boats on the water (in the sea) with take off and landing on the boats.

I've narrowed down to Neo 2 and Flip mainly due to the hand landing features and prop guards, although the autonomous quick shots, without needing a remote, on these 2 drones also appeals for spontaneous shooting when out and about (I understand not to trust quickshots on water).

I realise Mini 3/Lito X1 are stronger flyers and are on par price wise or cheaper even - but on a rocking boat I would trust the hand landing features (plus guarded propellers) more on these 2 drones than hand landing an open prop drone that might suddenly be taken by wind or dodgy obstacle sensors and then result in cut fingers or worse.

I have read a lot about Neo 2s failing over water, most likely when they are flown too low and downward sensors make mistakes, or more worryingly due to the unreliable satellite acquisition and locking, on the Neo 2, resulting in drops into the water.

I haven't heard of any such problems on the Flip though - is this just because there are so many Neo 2 owners and therefore the number of water fails (and reporting) is naturally higher or because the Flip benefits from better satellite lock abilities from its bigger siblings in the Mini range and so is much more reliable over water? I know many people who have Mini 3/4/5 say they have no issues over water on forums. I also know there are plenty of Neo 2 owners who have never had issues over water - it is just that the rate of failure seems much higher on the Neo 2.

By the way I know that DJI say don't fly over water and am not planning to take the drone too low over the water and will aim to keep it above 10m except takeoff/landing to maximise gps.

I understand the differences between the two drones also - shorter battery life and worse camera on Neo 2 but better obstacle avoidance, more autonomous and more rugged ( I won't be using FPV so not relevant) than Flip...but I am most concerned about water reliability.

Would love to hear thoughts or experiences
