I have a few days to reply back but i’m still stuck on what to firm.
Pros for me for imperial are the prestige and ranking, especially for working abroad. I do like the course structure too. Bursary is super high. Cons are the workload as medicine is already very stressful and i don’t want to hate my time for 6 years and this may sound dumb but i’m not a big fan of the charrings cross campus which imperial medics are at for half the time.
Ucl seems much more friendly and has a more diverse cohort, culture wise but also the fact that there’s humanities degrees too. Also, i’ve checked speciality training exam past rates in GMC and ucl had higher exam pass rates for all speciality and undergrad exams (however this is 2024). Also UCL has been ranked one place above imperial for medicine specifically on QS world rankings. These 2 things are making me feel like it’s not worth picking the more “boring”option imperial for the “prestige”.
I also like UCLs hospitals more, and i’m interested in dermatology and oncology if this helps anyone giving advice.
It’s worth mentioning that my offers are AAA imperial and AAB ucl so it makes more sense to firm imperial and insure ucl, but i’m not sure as every time i go to firm i start thinking about ucl.
Thank you!
