UCAT prep
How many hours per day should I be focusing on UCAT? I really want to avoid a burnout and my test is in 11 weeks.

I’ve just tried my first QR mock (done a weeks worth of practice) and got 440 💀 anyone else on the same boat or is it just not for me and this is a sign
i love vr. HOWEVER. how do you not fuck up qr im SO bad at it and i had like 5 mins left too
I've been doing consistent timed practice for VR on both platforms, but VR on Medify seems impossible to do whereas PassMedicine is soo easy. Im unsure which one to trust more 😭😭. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Hey y'all, I am a US applicant trying to apply in the UK, and I'm a bit lost when it comes to studying and applications. I booked a UCAT exam date for August 31st, bought MedEntry, and went through the introduction module. I also currently have a 34 ACT (35 Science, Math, and English, 32 Reading) and wasn't sure if that was enough or if I should study and retake it to bring my reading score back up. If anyone else has more information on applying from the US and the requirements, please help and lmk!
I actually cant with the UCAT its not like i cant answer the questions its just that the timing is so short i have to keep guessing the majority of the questions which is so irritating. Can you guys please share what u got on ur mocks and what you ended up achieving in the actual thing because im so stressed
Hi guys, my mocks are beginning to improve (slightly) thanks to y’all’s advice and hopefully it’s permanent rather than just a temporary thing bcs on wallahi I will crash out
I’ve been struggling with logic puzzles for quite a long time and I feel like they’re the main thing dragging my DM down from the 800s.
When I do logic puzzles I’m super prone to making mistakes and messing up. For example, I messed up 4 questions in this mock, and each one took me 1.5+ minutes.
The problem is that it takes me ages for the information to "click," and I’m still really prone to things like messing up my two-way table.
I think part of it is the time pressure too because when I practise questions on medify I feel way less stressed to go fast. But even under untimed conditions, I still take a long time to process them (usually 2+ minutes for medium level 2 way tables).
Just wanna know you guys approach to logic puzzles and advice? Any tips would be really appreciated.
I’ve also found Medify logic puzzles sm harder than MedEntry? because they give you so few direct clues, so it takes much longer for everything to make sense when I read it.
Also, I’ve watched all Emil eddy method and joyel George (I use his method) and yeah it’s js not working the best rn.
Taking full mocks makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. I am autistic and I have a tendency to break down completely when frustrated and overwhelmed, and I really don't want to be whimpering to myself and slamming my hands into my head in the examination room like I do at home. I don't get it, I can finish exams at school, easy-peasy, with over half the available time remaining, without breaking a sweat, but this goddamn test reduces me to a slobbery mess at home. Just imagine what it would be like for me on the actual exam day.
I can do a mock of each section seperately and do just fine. But altogether, the whole 2-hour exam is just too much for me. It's not like I'm gonna get a nice long break between tasks when working in the future.
Do you guys think that there's any hope for me as a doctor? Doctors deal with so much stress and unpredictability flying at them from all angles, I'm terrified there's no way I could do it if I can't even handle the UCAT. Am I mentally fit to work in healthcare? I just feel so fucking lost and hopeless for my future.
best feeling when everyone else getting the Q wrong too
just to like double check, we are allowed them right? kinda scared to show up with them and they aren't allowed, even though the UCAT website says they are, but i have asked previous years test takers and they all said they are not?
maybe it's just a new thing, or not that many people bring them so they aren't aware of it
raw scores:
VR- 27/44
dm-36/47
qr - 28/36(stuck around 28/29 for literally any mock i do help)
any advice is so so appreciated!
this is my second time doing the ucat and it's scheduled for 28 july. wondering if pushing it back an extra week would be worth it/make much of a difference in my score. btw i'm in aus, so testing is only open until 5 aug.
i'm aiming for at least 2300 and i've been doing a daily mock for the past week. currently averaging 1910 on medentry (86/127 raw), scoring in the 600s in each subtest.
i've been studying since april but really picked up the intensity this past month. i was planning on doing a mock a day until my test day, but i think i might spend the next couple of days focusing on my weaker question types (e.g. interpreting information in DM, tax in QR) before going back to the daily mocks.
any advice regarding rescheduling or my study outline for the next few weeks is appreciated!
Edit: grammar
Tbh I'm losing hope on doing well in the UCAT. My exam is on the 20th of August and I've started doing practice every day on medify since 4 weeks ago; despite that, I've only really improved on SJT (getting band 1 on mini mocks and averaging 75-80% in timed practice).
In the past week I've been seriously considering some plan B options. I really want to do dentistry and I have a strong attraction to it, and I wouldn't be satisfied with anything else, but it seems like I have no choice. Or is there hope? Idk.
Option A - studying dental hygiene and therapy
Pros:
Cons:
Option B - studying dentistry abroad

Option C - gap year

Any thoughts?
I've done like a 100 questions on syllogisms but I keep making mistakes. Sometimes I'll do rlly well when I do them individually but other times I'll just flop all the questions. I looked at the definitions of words but even then its not working :(. I currently use the arrow method
What I don't get is how sometimes they can reverse the statement and other times they can't?
I’m so upset, I’ve spent 3 full days watching YouTube vids, reading websites and reflecting on my mistakes and it’s not improving
I have done 3 mini mocks and 3 full mocks and EVERY SINGLE TIME. I get 28-30 correct and I always get all 6 syllogisms wrong - not even like 4/5 and it pulls my grade down sm bc it’s worth double marks.
Could anyone please give any tips/tell me what u guys do!!! I use medentry I’m not sure if this is similar to the official one? Thank you !!!
I’m struggling a lot with qr rn. I’ve just started with untimed practice but I’m struggling to get my head around knowing how to work out the questions. I’ve forgotten a lot since gcse maths. I did ask someone and they said it’s not worth going over gcse maths content and I should just keep doing more practise questions. If anyone else has any other tips for someone with poor maths skills then it’ll be appreciated.
Im resitting the ucat, and i bought the subscription on the same account, but i want to restart my account to start from the beginning again.
Is there any way to reset the progress pls help
does anyone know how to clear the ucat calculator? even though i press backspace it clears whats on the screen, but when i try to start a new calculation, e.g. 3500 + _____ , the second i press the + , a random number just appears. not really sure if im pressing something wrong?
also even if i manually use the mouse to press the on/c button it still doesnt always work i have to spam click it, which wastes a lot of time.
thank u so much!!!
I’ve done 2 medify mini mocks for vr and got 17/44 and 18/44 i’ve been doing timed and untimed practice for like a week and I just can’t get the hang of it. My exam is in 40 days is this enough time to score 650+ in the exam? or do I need more time.. has anyone improved from scores like this and how did you do it and how long did it take? I’m really stressed!
this has got to be a joke and is lowkey pmo cuz how is 31 a 760?? what is above 800 atp??
