How do I actually go from A to A*

With a levels i feel like there is a fine line between both grades. When I try search up advice people always have videos for going from lower grades to A* but not to go from an A to A*. I feel like its lowk hard to do and I want to genuinely know tips that i can apply to make that slight change in grade.

BTW I do Maths, Chem and Bio

b to a* in 10 days?

i do alevels biology chemistry and maths and i’m on BBB (B in pure maths not sure about applied) and i need to get A*AA is it possible?? it feels like there’s no time and i don’t know how to bring it up? i’ve not done a lot of past papers so there’s so much left and the only way i can finish majority before exams is doing 4 a day.

should i like sit and work through all 4 papers every day or like so one question at a time and then look at markscheme so that way maybe i can do papers quicker because i can mentally answer some questions and it saves me from writing them. idk what to do so any advice at all is helpful. i need to get a*aa and i just feel so behind right now. so is this something i can do in 10 days and how?

i rlly do want to do as much papers as possible because people say chem questions repeat a lot but should i actually sit and write all papers or is skimming okay aswell?

i genuinely feel so behind right now like past papers wise. and also i went through content before but when it comes to doing a question like the following week or something it feels like i’ve forgotten everything. like i went over bio paper 1 topics maybe 2 ago and yesterday i was going to do my first bio paper 1 and i couldn’t remember anything so i just didn’t do the paper and went over content again.

anyway sorry for the rant thank you reading all this. but is it possible to go from 3Bs to A*AA in 10 days time?

brunel vs gap year

I have an offer from brunel, uclan, UCD which I am really grateful for and I am currently on the waiting list for HYMS(I have no idea about my probability of getting off the list, since there are only 11 seats for international students). I would much rather go to brunel than uclan, because I have heard quite a large amount of complains from international students at uclan, and preston is not the right environment for me. My dilemma right now is that I plan on moving abroad after Specialty training or after fy2, worst case scenario, the competition rates increase by the time I leave med school and I would have to apply abroad, and brunel's prestige might become a disadvantage. If I end up getting 2300+ before brunel's deposit deadline, is it worth taking a gap year considering the possibility I might end up with no offers next year? And is there a chance or any success stories where they were able to defer brunel's offer and still apply to other schools through ucas? The only way my parents would be 100% supportive of me taking a gap year is if I have a solid back up plan for the gap year, since they aren't quite comfortable with the idea of 2 or more gap years.

Any advice or success story will be appreciated 😄

non-school leaver undergrad med applicant

hey guys, just wondering if anyone had experience/advice or in general help on my situation. Im currently a second year uni student studying science. I am planning to sit the ucat this year (was a last minute decision, because I wanted to giev it a good shot once. I have sat the ucat before but it was really bad, due to lack of preparation and high school and stuff.

So this time around what can I do? Is tutoring necessary? I have enquired at a few places but they are really expensive?I'm planning on getting the medify subscription (even though people are saying medentry is better, but its expensive. Additionally what should i do?

Is entry even realistic at this point because I don't have a compeetitive atar and am hoping for them to base it off my current gpa. but then again idk. Any help will be appreciated.

UCAT Retake

Basically, I got med school offers this year which I’m more than happy about, but I want to return to my home country to practise in the furture but they have a list of med scls that they recognise(e.g UCL, KCL, imperial like all those top ones) and only these can go back without taking the transfer exam which barely anyone passes like 2-3% pass rate. My UCAT was not competitive enough for those med scls as an intl. So I was thinking should I retake the UCAT right before A level result day (as I don’t really want to take a gap😬) to see if I get a competitive enough score to reapply? However Ik it’ll be quite brutal as I will be revising again right after A levels. Like I don't mind doing interviews again but UCAT icl I hated it so much, it was traumatizing but for my future do you think it’s worth it to give it a shot?

Would you recommend Medify or Medentry?

Hi I am a Year 12 student sitting and preparing for the UCAT this Summer. Would students who have previously sat the UCAT recommend Medify or Medentry? I have heard some people suggest getting Medify first and then using Medentry for more realistic scores?

What are people actually using for UCAT mocks besides the official practice tests?

Sitting UCAT in July and trying not to burn money on three different subscriptions.

So far I've done the official practice tests and some other random stuff. Mocks feel like the main gap - I want timed full runs with review, not just untimed drills.

What has worked for you for:

- full timed mocks (not just section drills)

- tracking weak areas between mocks

- QR data-set / table practice

Not looking for "buy X" spam - genuinely want to know what sixth formers are using this cycle and whether anything free is actually usable before paying for Medify/MedEntry tier stuff.

Not Meeting GCSEs requirement

Hi guys, I received an offer from a uni and firmed it. I later realised one of their requirement was GCSE bio which I have not done (although I did mention all my IGCSE subjects on ucas), how did I get the offer and will I be rejected after submitting my qualifications 💀

Feeling depressed

Less than two weeks before my exams and I need AAB (A in chem and bio) and realistically on ACC. I know i can improve but i can’t even think about my exams without feeling nauseated. I’ve also started to have random fits of shaking uncontrollably. I think it’s due to stress. It doesn’t help that I don’t have anyone to talk to about exam pressures and stress. All of this is quickly deteriorating my mental health and i think i spend most days crying and revising. Any tips on maths and chem or improving my mental health is appreciated.

GONNA MISS MY OFFER

I was predicted 3A* and I was doing really well in y12 and smashed my y12 mocks but y13 ive slacked off so hard it's crazy. I got an offer for AAA but rn im genuinely on BDE.

I've done 2 econ papers already which were ok definitely not the best - thats my B (or C worse case scenario), not too sure since its quite unpredictable unlike bio or chem. im going to try to get better on paper 3 to bring it up to an A hopefully.

for bio and chem tho its a bit different. chem im on an A for paper 1 but a U for paper 2 and 3 since ive never learnt the content. same with bio, im on an A/B for paper 1 but U for paper 2 and 3.

genuinely just wondering do I have a chance if these next 2 weeks I try learn all bio and chem paper 2/3 content from scratch? or is it too late?

regardless I know I need to try my best anyway, but I need to be realistic so I can try plan what ill do going forward. anyone else in a similar position?
