Some back story, my air bag light came on and I decided to use forscan to get the codes. I ran the codes online and after various troubleshooting found that the alternator was not charging. This was indicated in forscan diagnostics and using a traditional volt meter, I was barely getting 12v. From what I found indicated the RCM is the first system to detect a low voltage condition. So I replaced the alternator and verified the system was charging again (14v) but the light remained on. Tried using forscan to clear it, but every time the light would come back after a few minutes. Finally took it to the dealer and they claim it's a faulty airbag control module (I think), said it's in the dash. We ordered the part and after a few days it arrived so I dropped the truck off in the morning and by about closing time still haven't heard from them, so called to find out why a 2 hour install and program has taken all day. Turns out that during the program the truck "just shut off" and they couldn't get it to come on at all, no accessory power either. They had to call Ford engineers and wait to hear back. Next day they had a message from Ford to replace the body module and security module, now I have to wait a few days for those to arrive. Hopefully I'll get the truck back sometime next week. The dealer blamed it on Fords program but acknowledged that I wouldn't be charged for the extra time and parts.
