Rear Facing Car seat and School drop off line
I am in the US and there are pretty strict expectations that kids be able to hop out of your car the second you stop in the school car drop off line. My daughter just turned 4 and is still rear facing because she still less than 40lbs and hasn’t met height requirements to be forward facing. Because she’s rear facing it takes a bit longer to climb out. I’m of the opinion that I shouldn’t have to turn her around if rear facing is safest, but the teachers assisting are a bit impatient trying to rush her out (side note she goes to a smaller private school so this isn’t a massive school trying to get 400 kids through the car line). We are working with her to get practice climbing out to get her faster and steadier, but I’ve had multiple people say we have to turn her around just for school drop off ease. Anyone else getting pressured to turn their preschooler around for this reason?
