Casually sleep training my 3.5 month old

I’ve read a lot about sleep training and I’m anticipating her to start going through her 4 month sleep regression, if she hasn’t already— she’s starting to wake 2-3x at night to feed vs previously sleeping through the night. She has always been a good sleeper and I think I accidentally just started sleep training???

One day I put her down in her crib for a nap and normally I’ll sway her in the chair, but she just drifted off to sleep. I was curious if she would do it again and she did. And if she stirs awake, unless she starts wailing, I’ll leave her be to see if she soothes herself back to sleep and 8/10 times, she does. So I’ve started just putting her down and see if she dozes off and she does for the most part. Occasionally if she seems like she is getting worked up or starts to cry, I’ll pick her up and soothe her in the chair. But it seems for the most part she’ll put herself to sleep.

Did I win baby lottery? Has anyone else experienced this or similar? Does anyone have any tips to survive the regression?
