A very brief and vague summary of her lore (as I’m still writing all of it in depth):

She's basically traumatized by knowing her mother tried to abort her, as well as when she discovered that her ex-husband cheated on her when he learned she was infertile.

Those, among many other factors, are the causes for her mental health downfall. Which triggered some questionable and illegal actions that made her end up on death row. Until Murkoff stepped in and made Alba their property.
