Updated FC26 Super League Pyramid — divisions based on Sofifa ratings only
Yesterday I posted my FC26 Super League pyramid idea and got a lot of feedback on club placements, so I ended up rebuilding the whole thing.

One thing to mention before people ask about certain clubs:
This setup is not based on history, trophies or reputation.
I arranged the divisions mostly using current Sofifa squad ratings/overall team strength to make Career Mode more balanced and competitive.
So stuff like:
Paris FC being in League Two
Tottenham and Roma in the top division
Ajax lower than expected
Olympiacos above some bigger historic clubs
…is intentional.
The idea is to make every division difficult instead of creating a “football heritage” ranking.

One thing I noticed while testing this setup is that European competitions actually become less exciting after a while.
Since the English pyramid itself is so stacked, league matches start feeling bigger than UCL nights.
You end up getting ridiculous storylines every season like:
PSG vs Bayern on the final matchday deciding the Premier League title
Sporting, Benfica and Porto battling for promotion from the Championship
Boca Juniors vs River Plate happening in League Two
Rangers vs Celtic becoming a 4th division rivalry
Ajax trying to escape League Two while West Ham fight relegation in the Championship
Leeds or Sunderland randomly pushing for European spots after promotion
Napoli away at Newcastle on a rainy Saturday somehow feeling bigger than a UCL night
That’s honestly what makes this setup fun for me. The domestic pyramid becomes so competitive that league games and English cup competitions start feeling more important than Europe itself.
Because of that, the domestic cups become the main events:
FA Cup
Carabao Cup
EFL Trophy
I almost started treating the UCL like a random continental side tournament while the domestic competitions became the real trophies to win.
Honestly this has been way more fun than a normal Career Mode save so far.
Curious what club you would pick for this:
take a giant and try to dominate?
or start lower down and grind through the pyramid?
FC26 Super League Career Mode Idea
Since FC27 is still a few months away, I’m planning to turn the entire English football pyramid into a massive European/world Super League save.
The exact divisions will probably change based on current squad ratings and overall balance, so ignore the placements in the image for now. The goal is basically to create four stacked divisions where every season feels chaotic:
giant clubs fighting for promotion/relegation
brutal domestic cup competitions
European qualification spots becoming unpredictable
League Two still feeling competitive and relevant
I tried to include a mix of:
elite clubs
fallen giants
historic clubs
strong mid-tier teams
Argentina, MLS and Saudi clubs
clubs with authentic stadiums/licensed presentation
Still looking for ideas to improve it:
teams I missed
clubs that deserve higher/lower placement
fun rules/challenges
ways to make the save even more chaotic
Would love suggestions before I finalize the pyramid.
I’m trying to take Huddersfield to the Champions League while intentionally staying in League Two/League One
I got bored of normal Career Mode saves where you get promoted quickly, sign a few wonderkids and dominate everything within a few seasons.
So I started a completely different save.
I picked Huddersfield Town, moved them to League Two, and decided to keep them in the lower divisions for as long as possible while trying to qualify for Europe through domestic cups.
One of the main reasons I chose Huddersfield is because they have an authentic stadium in game — John Smith’s Stadium — and I loved the idea of eventually hearing the Champions League anthem there while still technically being a lower-league club.
The funniest part of the save is imagining:
> a Champions League knockout game on Tuesday night
followed by
a rainy League Two away match three days later.
The craziest part is the schedule. If you go deep in every competition, the season can realistically reach anywhere between 70 to 85 matches depending on the European competition, which completely changes how you build the squad.
Instead of building one overpowered XI, I built two balanced rotating teams because fixture congestion becomes ridiculous once cup runs and European matches start stacking together. It honestly changed the way Career Mode feels because fatigue, injuries and squad depth suddenly matter more than just ratings.
I also avoided going full fantasy with transfers. The only major unrealistic signings I allowed myself were:
Kobbie Mainoo
Eli Junior Kroupi
Nico O’Reilly
Everything else is built around realistic squad depth, versatile players and rotation.
Honestly this has been the most immersive save I’ve played in years because it feels less like collecting superstars and more like trying to run an actual football club through complete chaos.
Has anyone else tried a Career Mode save where the challenge is survival and squad management instead of just getting promoted as fast as possible?
