848 Thief
Whoever ran around 848 stealing packages this afternoon, I hope the devil finds you before I do.

If you guys have any holds on your account, please go up there and ask about it in person. I’ve had a Do Not Generate Refund hold on my account that I called about multiple times, but I just went up there today. NOW they tell me that my account is under review because the entire department is working on reviewing everyone’s financial aid package to ensure everyone has enough to cover their tuition and stuff.
I could’ve used this information earlier, but seeing as it took over 40 minutes for them to figure that out, I’d say you’re better off going in person. Even if you’re a commuter student like me.
Hopefully this lowers the amount of “is this a scam” posts we see on here.
- The email uses “@mavs.uta.edu” instead of a “@noreply” or “@uta.edu”. The school normally won’t send a student to ask you about these things.
- The sender is a regular name instead of a department when accompanied by an “@mavs.uta.edu” email
- They are warning you that your account is being deactivated or offering a job
- They don’t have a sign off with their photo, the UTA logo, and where to contact them
- “Hi student,” instead of “Hi Maverick,” or “[your name]”
