Some questions regarding patterns and choosing a fabric
I’m trying to recreate the outer vest with the straps, the closest thing i could find was a dutch molle vest to use as reference but it doesn’t have the side straps i’m looking for. I am considering either using canvas or maybe cordura nylon? I want the vest to look as military-esque as possibly so I think a thicker fabric would be ideal but i’m very inexperienced and would love some advice. I was also considering using eva foam and overlaying fabric of some sort but i’m not 100% if that would match it well so im wondering what interfacing would give it that thick military vibe and lastly what type of vest should i use as a pattern? I was considering using a fishing or cargo vest pattern and just bringing it in a bit towards the front so there’s room for the straps but if anyone has any recommendations i’d be super appreciative :) (sorry for the long post)
