How do i smoothe this out before starting to paint?
and I was wondering what the things highlighted in red are. Where could I find them? I’d need something similar. Could you help me?
Which of these two wigs do you think is more suitable to be styled for a L Lawliet from Deathnote cosplay?(the one in the first slide is slightly cheaper btw so I'd prefer to buy it if the other doesn't make a huge difference)
i don’t like the format my face has, i wanted to do something with make up to appear to have a slim face to match the character, do u guys have any suggestions about make up?
i made a silly mistake by steaming my bangs design after using uhu glue for the glued hairline thing. now there’s this ugly white residue. how do i get this away pls help!
Hello, guys!
This is my very first cosplay, but I don't know how to get my hair properly under this wig! The bangs always poke my eyes, and my hair comes out of every side of the wig. I need tips! 🫡🤣
I already tried something like a net to put my hair inside with a lot of small buns, but my hair was way too big for it.
Also, I would love to get some tips for my makeup to achieve this Anime MaoMao look! 🥺
I think normal makeup would do, but I want it more Japanese-styled!

But im not sure where to look for jax cosplay can anyone help.
This is not a pity post or a vent, it’s a genuine question and I’m looking for advice.
I’m a new cosplayer. I’ve cosplayed maybe 6-8 times (all different characters) and I’m honestly thinking about giving up because I’m never satisfied. I cosplay for fun, not for compliments, but I have eyes and I can’t help feeling humiliated looking at my own cosplay pics!
Everytime I’m out of cosplay and I get dolled up (dates, concerts, etc.) I look REALLY good but when I put on a wig and cosplay clothes and do my makeup for the cos, suddenly I look 10x uglier - I have a soft jawline, but it a wayyy more prominent all of a sudden, my make up looks worse somehow and I look like a little kid getting ready for a costume party.
My friends don’t have this issue - their cosplay clothes fit better, they look gorgeous and natural, like the character irl (which is the goal), not someone playing dress-up.
My question - is this something that passes with time? Or should I just give up? Because I’m a confident person but each time I cosplay, I end up feeling insecure rather than happy. :((
It’s my first time crimping a wig for a con in a few weeks and it just doesn’t look crimped? I’m going over it at 180°C, in a zig zag pattern, then horizontal, then combing it out while it’s still hot. I am taking small vertical sections as well! All the other crimped wigs I’ve seen look much “fluffier” and i’m just not sure i’m doing this right, any advice is greatly appreciated !!!
Hi hi!
I would normally ask this in the sewing subreddit, but I am wanting to compete and that factors largely into what I'll choose to do.
I'm making a petticoat for a cosplay that I'm hoping to enter into a competition in a few months. I wanted to know if anyone here has any experience in making a petticoat for a competition because I don't know how I should be finishing the edges between the tiers(the parts where you gather the next tier into the one before). If it has no impact on judging or its an acceptable method, I was just going to use fraycheck. If the judges would care, I'll do rolled hems on every raw edge. I'm making the petticoat out of organza, so I can't just leave as is, but rolled hems on thousands of inches of fabric would take much longer obviously.
Help!! I am cosplaying for the first time this weekend and bought this synthetic wig. I wore it out and about to test how long it would last and some of the ends got super ridged and fluffy. Water didn’t help and I’m wondering if it’s just ruined or how to help it :(
Hello I am a first nations person and I just am hoping to get some advice would it be considered cultural appropriate to do a cosplay of Lady Gyokuyou?
This is my harry warden cosplay I would like tips on how to improve and stuff. I also wanna know what I should buy to make it look as accurate as possible without it being very expensive.
I would also like to know how to get a more accurate build for this cosplay maybe a compression shirt or smth?
What was your first time wearing non-cosplay lenses? Whether it was for cosplay or just general wear. I'm posting this because I need it for cosplay, but the lenses aren't for cosplay. I'm not afraid to put in a lens, I know how insert a lens, but I'm afraid to how do I remove my lenses?
Hello all! Fairly new to customizing my cosplays and was wondering what I can do to stop my garter with an emblem attached on the side from slipping.
I don’t really want to sew it onto the tights. They rip fairly easily so I have extras I can interchange.
I thought maybe I could hot glue squiggly lines on the garter but I’m not sure how effective that will be on the tights(I say tights but their more panty hose type).
Any advice is appreciated!
So I’m going to a con on Sunday and decided 2 days ago that I would like to cosplay choso from JJK! I don’t have any costume ready so I wanted to do a closet cosplay but the weather forecast suddenly changed and now it gonna be sunny and 30 degrees Celsius and the con is mostly outside… I sadly don’t have any white clothes that would be weather appropriate and I don’t wanna buy something just to do a simple closet cosplay and thinking about ditching the white and go for a casual outfit with Choso make up + hair (I would strill try to mimic the upper body with a purple scarf and the white flared arms). Would it still count as a choso cosplay while ditching his color pallet?

Hello. I'm interested in working on a Sheik (from LoZ) cosplay, which is a character that has a bit of armor, mainly on the upper arm, thighs, and calves, as well as small shoulder pieces, depending on whether I decide to do them or not. I'm thinking about mixing a bit of elements from Sheik's OoT design and Sheik's Hyrule Warrior design. Meaning, I'm thinking of making her OoT white, ripped shirt with the Sheikah eye, hair cap and mask (white) , as well as other white bandages and mixing it with her HW pieces of armor design. My idea is just buying a tight dark blue sports shirt (long sleeved), as well as a tight dark blue sports pants, using those, and placing all the armor and white fabric details over my clothing. I don't want to sew them on the sports clothing, I'm thinking about using some straps or strings to keep them in place (for example, the red strings Sheik has on her HW design). It will be my second cosplay ever, so I don't feel confident sewing a full body suit, that's why I'll go with this option.
The thing is, I wanna know more about how to make her armor pieces with EVA foam, mainly when it comes to the details. Some of the pieces have a small sheikah symbol drawn on it, or have a white outer lining, with the rest being blue. How to paint/do it like that?
For starters, how do I get the foam pieces to have that small outer lining "volume" as it is shown on these pieces on this photo I found on the internet? I can't find any pattern for Sheik armor anywhere on the internet, so I'm unsure on how to do these little details and the overall shape.
Thanks in advance, guys!
I don't usually go to conventions very often, but on the few occasions I have gone, if I see a cosplayer who's done a truly amazing job, when I go up to say hello and congratulate them on their work, I tend to crack little jokes as if I were actually the character they're portraying (Both men and women find it amusing)
And while sometimes they take it in stride, others get angry or act unfriendly toward me.
Does this kind of attitude usually bother you?
Hello, I’m not very good at sewing or anything like that but I was wondering what the best way to get that diamond pattern onto a yellow longsleeve would be? I tried hunting one down that just came like that but to no avail.
Any help is appreciated
I am planning on styling a Kagamine Len wig for a con soon, and I have some questions.
can I use a straightener instead of a crimping iron? What's a good tutorial for general styling? Should I style on my head or a mannequin? Is there anything you wish you knew your first time styling a wig?
Thank you if you answer
