Swayze Field

Home to the Ole Miss University baseball team, and widely considered one of the very best collegiate baseball venues in the world. This virtual copy uses the customized foul grounds option to precisely replicate the layout of the real park, and also tries to replicate the setup of the box seats as well as the upper deck seat ring.

For a collegiate ballpark, the seating is quite robust, featuring a field level, mezzanine, plaza, and upper deck. The Ole MIss Rebels have enjoyed many games where the paid attendance exceeded 10,000!

The real park features unique recessed concessions underneath the mezzanine seating deck down the two baselines and this virtual model tries to replicate that also. If that's not enough to offer, the real park has two well designed hillside standing-seating sections behind the left and right field fences.

The way it is used in the real world is the area behind right field is for students while the one behind left field is for those alumni who enjoy taking their kids out for a combination picnic and baseball game. It's a really cool setup. Frankly, as an NC State alumnus, I'm envious of this park and wish my alma mater had something like it to call our home.

The memory was maxed out and devoted almost exclusively on replicating the ballpark layout. Fortunately, due to the real park being nestled in a bowl, there wasn't much need to replicate a complicated outfield vista behind the ballpark itself.

Charles L. Cost Field

Charles L. Cost baseball field is just one venue of three that comprise what the University of Pittsburgh has named the Peterson Sports Complex, which also includes a soccer field and a softball venue, both in line to the third base line of the baseball stadium. These can easily be seen during the play of a game.

For this reason, this build was one of the more enjoyable experiences for me since it featured such varied and yet interconnected venues in close proximity.

As with my other releases, this stadium uses the option to customize the foul grounds and so the basic layout is precise, with the only exception being that the dugouts are hard wired in the Stadium Creator code, so they could not be moved to perfectly mimic the real world configuration, but the result here is close.

Jim Patterson Stadium

Jim Patterson Stadium is home to the Louisville University Cardinals baseball team. This virtual replication uses customized foul grounds to replicate the actual stadium's layout, including the unique notch that lies adjacent the visitor's dugout. That said, truth is since the dugouts cannot be moved in Stadium Creator, the virtual baselines are not precisely true to the real world venue, and since the stand prop is wider that the real grandstands, this required that the iconic Jewish Hospital Sports Medicine clinic, located down the first base line, had to be altered in terms of its angle and location.

This project was unique in that almost as much time was spent constructing L&N Credit Union Stadium, home to the university's football team, as was spent on the baseball venue. But, given how it is such an iconic vista past right field, it deserved the time.

The stadium also features a nice multi-tiered grass plaza section adjacent the left field foul pole, and along the third base line lies multiple residential homes, which again this virtual replication sought to mimic. If you field a ball hit to the left field corner by the foul pole, you can catch a glimpse of historic Churchill Downs horse track, which in the real stadium truly is located only a block away behind the grandstands and slight skewed to favor left field.

The custom uniforms are all part of the collection made for my MLB 24 Franchise league featuring 15 ACC and 15 SEC baseball teams.

Using the code option to modify the foul territory, this stadium will play on MLB 25 and earlier releases. This iconic stadium at Clemson University was renovated a few years ago and so this version sought to replicate those changes, plus replicate the real world stadium's basic layout. Most of that layout is a precise replication, but the software cannot allow the pit portion of the dugouts to be moved, so that hard coded restriction would not allow me to replicate the notched baseline wall panels that are on the home plate side of each dugout.

Beyond that limitation though, the rest was set to replicate the actual venue.

In case anyone is curious about the college teams, I created a custom league for Franchise in my copy of MLB 24, which I use to exclusively play out that Franchise using 15 ACC teams in a revised "National League," and 15 SEC teams in a revised "American League."

There are collegiate ballparks for all 30 of these teams in the stadium vault for MLB 25 and 24.

Using the code option to modify foul territory, this virtual stadium's basic layout precisely matches that of the real ballpark. So, within limits of the available props, this comes close to reality.

Never let it be said that a graduate from NC State cannot do something nice for UNC! LOL!

The reference to renovation doesn't imply a renovation to the virtual stadium that I previously released, but instead to the completion of the real world three-year renovation that was completed in time to start the 2026 baseball season. The final piece was the construction of a state of the art player development center in the right field corner, which the school named in honor of head coach Elliott Avent.

The main areas where the exact setup of the real world ballpark could not be matched is due to the software code that won't allow props to be nudged up against the walls where the notches are formed. So, the Avent's Army bleachers and grassy hill are moved as close as the software would allow. The same issue affects placement of the development center in the right field corner. The second limitation is that the bullpens are hard coded to lie down the baselines, vice be relocated behind the outfield walls where the wall windows are located in left and right field. The best look stand prop is double the size of the real seating, so I used brick concourse props to block out those seats.

Beyond that, this is I think a fairly close replication of the real park, including the inclines up the hill halfway down first and third base lines. Alumni of NC State will recognize the tennis facility named for J.W. Isenhour, where the men's and women's Wolfpack tennis teams train and play. This includes replications of Varsity Park running down the first base line and Thurman Drive running down the third base line.

Also shown is the iconic rail track that bisects the NC State campus, running down the third base line, plus Lee Field (with the transformer station included) along with Lee and Sullivan Residence Halls. BTW: For two of my four years at NC State, I stayed at Bragaw Residence Hall, which is the large "X-Wing" building located on the far side of Lee Hall. I even included the Fountain Dining Hall nestled adjacent Lee Hall, plus Parent's and Lee Parks located past the trees in right center field.

I realize there are many examples of Durham Bulls Athletic Park in the vault. But, I believe this is the only version with customized foul grounds as this version uses the option to move the baseline and backstop wall panels.

Therefore, this only works with MLB 25 and earlier releases. That said, because SDS goofed up the wall window panels in MLB 25 and never bothered to fix it, if you save the stadium to MLB 25 then nearly all the wall panels on the blue monster in left field will be wiped out. These screen captures were taken in MLB 24.

Since the foul grounds are customized, this version faithfully replicates the basic setup of the real ballpark. There is one stubborn area in the blue monster wall panel layout where that wall prop just refused to be placed in the slot. Even in MLB 24, the wall panel code was never fully optimized.
