2 weeks post-op gyno surgery — left side hardness, skin laxity & no clear post-op instructions given. Anyone else?

Hey everyone, just hit the 2-week mark after my gynecomastia surgery and wanted to reach out to this community because I feel a bit in the dark.

My surgery: Had a significant gland removal plus around 500ml of fat liposuction from my chest. The left side had considerably more glandular tissue than the right, so by nature it was always going to be the more complex side.

What I’m experiencing on the left side:

-Noticeably more loose skin compared to the right
-A hard, firm area under/around the incision site — I’m guessing this is fibrosis/collagen buildup from healing
-Some bruising still present
-Mild pain/tenderness around that hardened area

My surgeon has said it’s all completely normal and isn’t concerned, which I do believe — but the issue is I’ve been given zero post-op instructions. No guidance on massage, activity levels, compression use, anything. He’s been pretty hands-off about the whole aftercare side of things.

So I wanted to ask:

  1. Did anyone else experience significant hardness and firmness on one side more than the other, especially with a larger gland removal?

  2. Were you given instructions on scar massage or lymphatic massage, and when did you start?

3.How long did the fibrosis/hardness take to soften up for you?

  1. Any tips for the loose skin on the more heavily operated side?

Not looking for direct medical advice, just hoping to hear from people who’ve been through something similar. Feeling a bit unsupported post-op and just want to know what’s normal to expect over the coming weeks. Cheers 🙏
