How hard is it to build a PC for someone who has never done anything similar?

I know this is probably the worst time to get into PC gaming on a budget. I've been saving up to buy a PC over the past few months and I was just going to buy a pre built one but I was wondering if it'd just be better to build one myself if at all possible and how much cheaper would it be on average? I don't know the first thing about PCs but I mainly just want one that can run games like Skyrim with mods, fallout new Vegas with mods, and mainly different indie games like mewgenics and the binding of Isaac. I am most often gonna play new releases on my PS5 so I dont need anything crazy powerful. Does anyone think it'd be way too difficult for me to build one on my own or would it be worth a shot? How much should I expect to pay?
