Decided I was finally going to kick this terrible shit and try the sub route as I’ve quit 2 times prior with bad results. Problem was I didn’t have the $100+ for an appointment with quickmd. I did a little research and came across a program for IL residents called MAR NOW. It’s essentially a state funded helpline for people seeking MAT that gets you connected to a doctor that can prescribe subs. It’s a 24/7 hotline but they can’t really do much for you if you call later in the evening as there are no doctors available. But even if is late someone will take your info to give to someone to call you in the morning to get started.
My experience so far has been great though. I took my last dose around 8pm last night and then I called around 11 pm last night. Originally thought I could suck it up and CT but started to panic a couple hours after my dose so that’s when I started researching. The first person I spoke to was super nice and took all my info and let me know someone will call in the morning to follow up. Fast forward to this morning and I receive a call around 9am. The lady was also super nice and she actually knew what 7oh was. They asked me some general questions and said they’d get a doctor on the line as well. After that the doctor prescribed me 8mg subs, once daily, for two weeks with a follow up appointment in two weeks. It’s currently 1pm and my script is being filled. All at no charge to me except the cost of the subs which will be $15 with insurance. Wish I’d stretched out my dose to last me longer into today but considering everything they provided me help pretty quickly.
So for anyone in IL seeking help please get ahold of this program. They even offered to Uber to and from the pharmacy if I had no transportation.
