Does anyone have an explanation for why some people just don't contribute much to the weekly challenges?

I've had a Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings for a while now. I currently have a level 50 hundo Necrzoma making my Dusk Mane, and a level ~45 15/15/11 shiny wormhole Necrozma making my Dawn Wings. Recently, through some research, I've come to find out that Dawn Wings is far better a Pokémon than I originally thought for many uses. I'm now considering unfusing them and switching the Necrozmas around to get a hundo Dawn Wings instead of a hundo Dusk Mane. Is this worth the 1,000 of each fusion energy and the 60 Necrozma candies + the 60 Cosmog candies? Is this a bad decision to make? Any feedback is appreciated.
