How to tell if your birth time is wrong

Here’s the issue:

I have a friend who works as a nurse in a hospital, and she explained that the birth time written on records isn’t always the exact moment the baby is fully born. Instead, the doctor delivers the baby and often leaves right after. The nurse is then busy with stitching, cleaning, weighing, and attending to the mother. Only after all that – sometimes 30 minutes to an hour later – does she write down the time.

Worse, my friend said if the ward is chaotic, a nurse might go for breakfast and write the time from memory much later.

So my question is two-fold:

  1. How can we, as astrologers, verify that a given birth time is accurate (or at least reliable)? Are there birth chart signatures that would be impossible if the time were off by, say, 30–45 minutes?

  2. What are the red flags in a chart that suggest the recorded birth time is likely wrong? For example, if the Ascendant degree doesn’t align with major life events, or planetary hour rulers conflict with known character traits?

I realize rectification exists, but I’m asking about initial clues before doing that heavy work. I’d love methods that don’t require dozens of life events.

Thanks in advance – this has shaken my trust in standard birth certificates a bit.
