EP vs. Kameli for a Tech Profile with old citations?
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to decide which law firm to hire for my EB-2 NIW case and would love to get your insights, especially if you have worked with Ellis Porter (EP) or Kameli.
My Profile:
- Current Role: Senior Software Engineer (4 years at FAANG, 8 years at a Tier-1 Fintech company in NYC).
- Education: Research-based M.S. degree (with Thesis).
- Metrics: 4 publications, 67 citations.
- The Catch: All publications are from my Master's program 12 years ago.
| Law Firm | Offer / Price | Evaluation & Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Chen | Rejected | Refused to take the case because my publications are 12 years old; they wanted proof of continued research. |
| 2. Ellis Porter (EP) | $6K (Full refund policy) | Offered a 10% discount if paid upfront. They sent the approval offer immediately without much discussion, which makes me a bit hesitant. I've also seen some mixed reviews here. |
| 3. Kameli | $4.5K (Non-refundable) / Matched EP | Quoted a 75% approval chance. The base fee is non-refundable but includes a free refile if denied. After I mentioned EP, they offered to match EP's full-refund deal. |
| 4. Raju Law | $5K (no refund) | Quoted a 90% approval chance. If denied, a refile costs $2.5K (50% discount on original price) |
| 5. Manifest | $8K to $15K | Tiered pricing: Silver ($8K, no refund), Gold ($11K, 40% refund), Platinum ($15K, 60% refund). |
| 6. Alma | $8K (No refund) | Flat fee, no money-back guarantee. |
Right now, I am leaning toward either EP or Kameli (especially since Kameli offered to match EP's refund policy).
- Has anyone with a similar "older research/industry heavy" profile worked with either of these two?
- How hands-on is Kameli compared to Ellis Porter's high-volume approach?
- Should I be worried about EP's quick automated intake?
- Am I missing any other firm before I sign a contract?
Appreciate any advice or experiences you can share!
