dry wavy hair tips?!

dry wavy hair tips?!

Hi!

I have wavy hair with some loose ringlets and would love some advice on products and routine.

right now I've been using several products from curl smith—weightless air dry cream, hydro style flexi jelly, and hold me softly style balm are my usual go to's.

50% dry

underneath is very very dry even when actively in the water

100% dry—this is the best case scenario for the dry under layer. still dry and coarse but more defined than usual

I wash my hair about 6 times a month and I use a detox shampoo every 2-3 times and I use curlsmith's curl quenching conditioning wash on days in between.

I've tried cgm before and have not been happy with the results or the amount of time it takes, so im looking for something lower maintenance. I've been happy with how my hair has been air drying using the curlsmith products, but my main issue is that my hair is very lightweight and doesn't fall super nicely, but it might just be the awkward length that it is at the moment and falling right at my shoulders.

I also have an extremely dry section of hair underneath that doesn't take product well and dries so fast. it's very very coarse even if I apply leave in products to it in a separate section while the hair is wet. If anyone has suggestions to help with this I would really appreciate! attaching a photo of it in the pool and you can see how coarse and frizzy and dry that section is even while my hair is soaking wet/actively in the water. the other photo is today and is the best it ever gets.

usually I will get out of the shower, apply the air dry leave in conditioner on wet hair, then the flexi jelly, comb through. then I will style it how I want it either down or in a ponytail and by then that section is already super dry, so then I will wet it more and add more leave in and a small amount of the hold me softly style balm.

sorry this is so much info, I would appreciate any insight! <3
