Uploaded my first YouTube video and got 33 views. Is this normal for a new channel?
Hey everyone!
I recently started a YouTube channel focused on psychology and simple hand-drawn animations. I spent quite a bit of time working on my first video, including the script, visuals, narration, and editing. After uploading, it only got around 33 views, and most of those were from friends and family. I'm not expecting thousands of views overnight, but I'm genuinely curious how YouTube discovers an audience for a completely new channel.
For those who started from zero:
- How long did it take before YouTube started recommending your videos?
- Did your first few uploads barely get any impressions?
- Should I focus more on thumbnails and titles, or just keep uploading consistently?
I'd appreciate any advice from people who've been through this.
Thanks!
