At What Point do You Retire a Play-through?

I’ve done a few runs of Skyrim now but I only get to about level 40ish before I start getting pretty bored.

The time it takes to level up to get a new skill point takes forever, and I feel like trying to switch a build over to another is suicide at the difficulty I play at. At what point in a run do you retire it, or do some of you just keep playing the same play through forever, I’m curious if I’m the only one that stops a run at around level 40.
