I love Park Slope, but sometimes…
I was standing outside of a restaurant looking at a menu, trying to decide where to eat dinner as I just kinda wandered 5th Ave. I felt a splat on my left temple, and when wiped at it, there was a little bit of white residue on my fingers.
So, being a reasonable person, I figured maybe some bird poop or something similar had ended up on my face. Nothing else really wiped off when I checked again, but since I was literally trying to decide what restaurant to enter for dinner, I thought it would be prudent to get a closer look.
I have a lot of tattoos and don’t dress in a suit or anything, but I’d like to think I look like a relatively normal Brooklynite. But, it took me five people walking by before a single one would even *acknowledge* me asking a stranger for some quick help. I just wanted someone to tell me if the side of my face was covered in bird poop! Several people even *sped up* when I started in with “Excuse me, but…”
What is wrong with us?
