Do you think he actually believes Juniper might be the culprit in Turnabout Academy? Considering She's Athena's childhood friend though I doubt whether it matters since it's not like they knew each other well. Plus, he spend 7 years in jail.
Maybe he took the case to show Athena how unforgivable the courtroom can be and also maybe to keep her away from defending him because he's prosecuting Juniper? (it's been a while since I last played this case)
