Could use some advice here. We have a 2014 QX60 with about 120k miles. Cosmetically it is in excellent condition, but more importantly, has mechanical issues recently.
It runs, but isn’t drivable so our options are to tow it somewhere to get a repair estimate or tow it somewhere to get an estimate to be purchased.
Problem is, pretty sure the mechanical issues involve transmission and catalytic converter. The blue book value is only like $5-$6k if it were to be fixed and in running condition. My guess is repairs will easily be more than this.
Does it make more sense to just tow it to CarMax or something and take whatever they’ll give me or attempt repairing and tow back and forth if it’s not a reasonable estimate to repair?
At a minimum, the car must have some value for parts, wheels, newer tires, etc.?
