So my current vehicle has bit the dust, and I'm looking for cheap & reliable used car to drive to work. Since I'm not exactly a car guy, I'm steering away from anything that could be a reasonable deal for a mechanic. I'm not sure if links are allowed here, so I'll just list some of the ones I've came across so far that caught my eye (apologies for the terrible formatting)

FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE

FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE

  • 2014 Lincoln mkz
  • Odometer: 109,000
  • The Good: Up for sale is a stunning 2014 Lincoln MKZ in white with a factory black panoramic roof and upgraded gloss black wheels. This car is fully optioned out and provides a top-tier luxury experience. • Mileage: 109,000 (Mostly highway) • Condition: Excellent interior and exterior; very clean for the year. • Features: Heated/Cooled leather seats, premium THX audio, navigation, blind-spot monitoring, and the full panoramic glass roof. • Status: Runs and drives. Clean title in hand.
  • The Not-So-Good: • Needs Water Pump: The car has been diagnosed as needing a new water pump. • Because of this, I am pricing it significantly below market value to account for the repair. Note: This is a great opportunity for a mechanic or a DIYer to get a high-end luxury sedan at a fraction of the cost. Once the pump is swapped, you have a $10k+ car.

My options are kind of limited besides budget too (I can't exactly Uber around town looking for vehicles people are selling in their driveway), but are there any other suggestions on where to look besides dealerships, Craigslist, and Facebook? Also, when it comes to private sellers, how would one go about getting a PPI and/or Carfax report with them? It's been long time since I've dealt with buying a vehicle, so this is pretty foreign territory to me.
