I got sick of blank new tabs eating my time so I built one that shows my whole life as a grid
I open new tabs probably 30-40 times a day without even thinking. Just click and the blank page loads while my brain catches up. It started bothering me more and more lately.
So I built this. It replaces the new tab with a grid of your entire life. Past weeks light up white. Future ones stay dark. Right on the edge there's one square glowing and breathing — that's the one you're living right now. Under it a counter ticks down the time you have left down to the millisecond. Or counts up what you've already spent. Whatever feels heavier.
That's literally it. No feed no weather no to-do stuff. Just that quiet visual hitting you every single time.
I kept it stupid small open source zero tracking only storage permission for your birth year and theme. Been running it a couple weeks and I swear the tab feels different now. Can't mindlessly scroll the same way.
If you're the type who lives in Chrome and ever wonders where the days go you might feel it too. Link's here if you wanna try it
Code on github too https://github.com/imsovikde/Aevum
Curious what the grid does to you when it loads the first time. Or if it does nothing. Either way hit me with it.
