Explosion Quirk Idea with a dark twist
Warning ahead as this idea revolves around dark themes like death and suicide, but please read on if you okay with that.
Anyway I thought of this character and a myriad of other quirked up characters for a darker vigilante like/mercenary like group that’s quirked revolved around some form of body horror. The leader and also probably to most sane one of them all is called **Landmine.**
Quirk name: Human Bomb.
The user with this quirk is constantly building up and producing nitroglycerin laced blood throughout their system. With each pump of their heart, their body is filled with more and more of the volatile compounds that lays dormant in their body. Though once the heart stops beating, a chemical reaction occurs and the users body turns into a weapon of mass destruction, like a living grenade that only gets stronger the longer the heart continues to pump. The secondary effect of this quirk that after the explosion, the users body starts to regenerate, pieces of flesh and gore find their way back to the hosts center and reform and heal itself like it was destroyed, reanimating the corpse and bringing the user back to life. Once the heart starts pumping again, the volatile chemicals continue to build up for the next explosion, whenever that may be.
Though because said person is a walking bomb, able to explode if ever their life is in danger, the user (aka Landmine) would often choose to take their life so to minimize and control the blast radius of their explosions. For example if they last a day without dying, their explosion could be as big as fire cracker, a small pop. A week could be like a grenade, and well a year could possibly wipe out a small town.
