AITA for refusing to keep helping my friend after they ignored my advice?

I’ve been friends with someone for a few years, and lately they’ve been coming to me constantly for advice about the same problem. I’ve listened, tried to help, and given them pretty straightforward advice every time.

The problem is that they never actually take it. They do the exact opposite, things blow up, and then they come back to me expecting me to fix everything.

This happened again recently. They called me upset and wanted me to spend my evening helping them deal with a situation that they had basically created themselves. I told them I cared about them, but I wasn’t going to keep getting involved if they were going to ignore everything I said and then expect me to clean up the mess.

They got really offended and said a “real friend” would help without judging them.

Now I feel kind of guilty because I probably could have helped, but at the same time I’m exhausted from having the same conversation over and over.

AITA for finally refusing to help?
