Neighbor Freakout
Our neighbors across the street are a trainwreck. Their two kids hit, kick, thrown things and use profanity with other kids in the neighborhood, as well as with other parents who try and tell them to knock it off. The kids then run back home, tell their parents that someone was mean to them, and the parents come out screaming at everyone while the kids film from the driveway.
Kid are 5 and 6, and are both banned from the district school busses because of their behavior on the bus. The 6yo wouldn't stop calling black students the n-word. A teacher from another school in the district lives next door to them and has taken the brunt of their bullshit because of it. The kids come beat on her car when she gets home, they go in her garage and start getting into her kids stuff, and of course when she tries to redirect them, mom or dad comes out and start their shit.
At one point dad threatened to shoot mom during an argument loud enough that it was heard 5 doors up the street, cops came, and dad lived somewhere else for a couple months. They blame that on everyone but themselves.
Mom has some mental health issues that she proudly says are unmedicated, and is obsessed that neighbors can see into their backyard and are "watching my kids play". When they found out I have a camera on the front of my house and work from a room that faces the circle, she filed a police report that I was "stalking and harassing" her and her kids.
Came to a head this past weekend after Dad has been coming out yelling at neighborhood moms the last couple weeks. He tried to tell a grandma with her two grandkids that they couldn't play in the circle and to "go the fuck back up the street" and said they owned the hoop and could make rules. Sat on his BMX right under the net so no one could play, and then did that "I'm gonna try and get you to hit me" passive aggressive shit with the parents who came out to see why he was throwing f-bombs at a 70yo lady with a 5 and 8yo while his wife and kids filmed from their driveway.
If it was my kids I would have told them to play anyways, he can either move or get hit with balls.
Yelling at a Grandma was a last straw for a bunch of folks, and we all came together as a neighborhood, went to the community relations officer with the county sheriff with video and witness statements, and they and their kids have been criminally trespassed from most houses on the street, including the use of the basketball hoop since it's our property. I also provided video to the teacher neighbor and she filed for a restraining order.
The mom was *not happy* and has decided she wants to get our basketball hoop removed, not knowing that I got a zoning variance before installed it.
I made a sign that says "F*CKING C*NT B*TCH VIEWING WINDOW" for my office window but decided against putting it up. I have everyone else in the neighborhood mostly chilled out with "they're trying to antagonize everyone, they can't argue in a vacuum, and don't give them any ammo to use against Amanda's restraining order application. We need to be extra reasonable to contrast their crazy."
