Found this seller on ebay who is apparently just building an easily obtainable kit, pulling it's arms, head and legs off into separate components then asking for at least twice as much as it would cost you to just buy the original kit yourself.

Bro even wants over US$60 just for the dry decals alone! But hey, silver lining-the postage is FREE!

So, question time. Curious to know if anyone thinks I am maybe missing something crucial here? Because they do have a 100% approval rating, with nearly a 950 sales, which is interesting.

So is this just batshit insane like my instincts say it is?

If it was a rare kit I could probably understand it. But for such a common HG though... yeah, not so much.

Who would pay that much for these scraps?

EDIT: I could even almost put it down to ignorance if someone thought this was the old 1/144 no grade from waaaaay back in the day. But it's not that kit. That is the only non--dodgy explanation I have so far.

EDIT 3: What a ride! A niggling question turned into something that could only ever happen on Reddit! Anyway, big update! User u/Dracula-X- actually messaged the seller and flat out asked why! (I feel really bad, I wasn't actually planning on doxxing some poor ebay seller today)

But I digress... what they told u/Dracula-X- is that (as many people have pointed out) they do this as a service to help people out-victims if you will, people who have lost parts to the void, customisers and things of that nature. A noble service to our community, I am sure you will agree!

The crucial part being they do this locally for Japanes customers. At reasonable prices. They went on to say that the hugely inflated prices are in fact due to the unfortunate price of international shipping. I have no way really of confirming this is true, but when you look at all the facts together, Occam's Razor says that this is the thing that makes the most sense.

And on top of that, I do like to always at least try to see the best in people, and always give them the benefit of doubt until proven otherwise!

And I see no real reason not to do that here.

So I think we can tentatively call this case closed.

Havent really seen much on this kit in this subreddit especially ones that are the completed LED ones, so heres mine!

I definitely like this one alot quality wise is pretty good for a bootleg they’re definitely getting better as the years past, and i myself am starting to buy more of em

Although the most fustrating part is that you need wechat to control the LEDs instead of a dedicated app and i will say that app isnt very reliable took me 3 days to even register an account

Builds are done, all of these are awaiting decals and post-build odds & ends. Torn on next build, have an Aerial Dominator or a PG Strike Freedom (among others).

One hell of a kit with very nice range of movement for a kit of 1998, tho it's numb marks ain't nice at the slightest to look at... On the bright side I now have every MG Zeta Gundam and I looking forward to buy more Zetas

Couldn't believe what I got at a thrift store. Saw this box sitting on a shelf im the housewares section. Had to look inside. All there in perfect condition. Never seen anything like it so I of course had to buy it. $6 and now I'm the proud owner of it. Just thought I'd show off what I thought was pretty unusual .

Did a full repaint, keeping the color scheme of the kit. This is a shop build, for display at a local hobby store.

I did paint reflective light from the "wings of light" onto the body. The pink reflections are a painted effect that give the illusion of the clear pink parts casting light onto the kit.

The MGSDs are a great build, and I always recommend people give them a shot.

Yeah definitely got some learning to do 😅

I might need to contact my insurance company. I need to see if I can get a better rate with the added security.

Idk if it is just hype from buying it at the base in Japan or the fact it’s my favorite Gundam in my favorite colors IDK but regardless I loved every step of this! I now want every MG version of the Uni 🦄

The join between the wings and actual Mobile Suit is a bit questionable - no click so it’s a bit unstable

Ok do I water decal then spray with matte finish or do I matte finish and then water decal?

New to water decals and have sets for my entire collection.

Most of them are panel lined with Tamiya black and spray is Mr. Super clear.

I got into building gunpla a few months ago but now after building quite a few The starting shelf that I had isn't big enough anymore And it's getting crowded and I need to find a bigger shelf for my backlog. I was thinking about buying a bookshelf second hand but I wanted some advice on what works well to display Gunpla before I make any purchases . I have plenty of space in my room I just need something that can hold my current backlog and many more gunpla in the future.

Any recommendations/advice would be appreciated thank you!

I started building my first ever MG (Vidar) and I already ruined it. I’m missing a piece of one of the leg units.

The piece I’m missing is the C15 from the 2019 runner C titled 1/100 gundam frame.

What are my options? Can I get a spare somewhere in the EU?

Does anyone have a spare of this part they don’t need?

I really wish Bandai would make a MG of this kit.. cause I'm not comfortable building a resin kit. Idk why but I love the look of it so much and tbh I dont know much about the MS other than that thoe.. if anybody knows any info on the MS, I'd love to hear it..
