So,i am disclosing that I'm not a gunDAM fan,and barely a casual gunPLA fan,but that does mean I'm unbiased

I'm asking more experienced fans (or fans at all) why are some builders so mean and even insulting to posts with OOB builds or ones with nub marks,using a phrase from my country(greece) did they eat your bread? Kill your parents? Why so much toxicity,if the motto is 'gunpla is freedom' then why are people criticised for enjoying builds the way they like

It's very weird for snobbish the community seems,and how whiplash inducing it is, because i hear the gunpla community being chill,and then i see those comments,and it feels both toxic and performative

Not just on reddit(a shitty place already) but on youtube and other social media

Went on a trip to Shanghai and decided to get my first 3rd party kit. As a gunpla builder for 15+ years I am blown away by how close the build experience is between the 3rd party and Bandai kits: Bandai kits still feel better building but not by as much as how much the price difference are for those kits.

~$50 CAD for the detail and gimmicks of MGEX and PG? This is crazy.

I got hooked on the 1/100 scales recently and can't decide which of these 5 I should buy.

I just received my order of the Osiris Aerial Dominator after a few months as a grail kit I’d been eyeing for some time

The issue is that it doesn’t have the instructions in the box

Does anyone know if there is a PDF available online, or, if you’re feeling very generous, whether you can scan one of your own to help me/others?

I know that’s a big ask, I’m just so disappointed that I’m so close to building this masterpiece and blocked off right at the end

Been a Gundam anime fan forever but fairly new to the hobby. Got gifted 1 and have been horribly cursed since.

How am I doing so far?

Finished a grail I’ve had in my backlog for a few months. Very happy with it

My Russian friend gave me this without a box and said do whatever you want with it, so this is how i built my first Gundam

I’ve seen a lot of posts and videos saying how it’s parts fall off easily or how flimsy it is.

Its been quite the opposite with mine tbh, the joints were pretty tight (aside from the one in the left arm) and I never had a hard time assembling it or having it’s parts falling off, the only ones that did were the kneecaps but aside from that? Nothing.

though I am gonna say it’s not as sturdy as other kits I have and it NEEDS a base, the backpack is too heavy.

overall, it’s like having a wife, sometimes hard to deal with, but still beautiful nonetheless.

7/10 kit imo

I posted a little while ago about wanting to buy and build either my first RG or MG after many years of building HG gunpla. I was extremely nervous when thinking about building it but it turned out to be one of the easiest builds I've done.

The reason I haven't built an RG till now is because when I started I was really young and I didn't really have the money for better kits and watching youtube vids on them made them seem very complicated and daunting, with all the small and intricate pieces so I just didn't. Until my friend who never built a gunpla before showed me his first one which is an RG so I said fuck it and bought the first one I could find.

Thank you to those who helped me in and if you guys have any other recommendations or even what kits you think they should make RG for (The Blitz Gundam) I would really like to hear.

Since we're doing posts from Hobby Lobby, I figured I'd show off this Kämpfer I scored. Last one too! I'd've bought the last HG GQuuuuuuX Zaku they had there (believe me, I wanted to), but I'd rather let some other guy have a Zaku of their own. I've got a good 25+ Zakus in the backlog.

Neat price, like $39 for it!
