I got an email from Octopus saying that has started to roll out and is coming soon? Nothing has changed on my app so I assume it’s being rolled out in waves?
For those on it already, is it working ok so far and as advertised?
When I input the direction of my roof into solar prediction and forecasting tools, am I supposed to use the magnetic heading of the roof or true heading?
Some time back I was asking about whether the home mini can facilitate (near) real time display of export data if you have a compatible electricity meter that can provide export data.
Some people replied that this is not possible and you only see the export data up to 36 hours later, but a couple of people stated that they can see their Octopus export data appearing on the same day if they have a home mini, and a compatibly smart meter that can show export data.
Can anyone confirm this with a screenshot showing that you are receiving near real time updates of your export KWH on the “Day” screen for “Today” with a partially filled graph?
I raised this with Octopus customer service and they kind of fobbed me off with a vague answer along the lines of - yes the home mini can display the information it can see but if you don’t see it till the next day it just means the home mini does not have it yet. In reality the home mini displays whatever data Octopus has downloaded from the meter via the home mini to their servers as far as I understand.
If anyone can confirm evidence that this actually works for them I can put it back to Octopus.

If you are on variable direct debit and the monthly bill is actually a credit due to export payments, what happens? Does Octopus make a payment to you automatically or does the credit just sit there unless you ask them to pay it back?
