I just watched Heresy’s old Twitch streams where he queues up with a whole team and plays with a draft phase, and my god the gap between Phantom 4 (my rank) and Eternus 6 is like the Grand Canyon. I knew it was already an insane jump in elo, but watching one game made me feel like I know NOTHING about Deadlock.
The timings. The insane team fights just for the first urn. The extremely specific comms. The jungle is consistently fully farmed. The movement alone saves them from deaths that literally no one else would be able to prevent.
But what wow’d me was how punishing small mistakes are. During the game, the team was concerned about their wave state being bad WHEN THEY WERE EVENLY SPLIT DOWN THE MAP. They rotated to defend a walker, and someone forgot to push a wave beforehand. The enemy team INSTANTLY pushed that bad wave and converted it into taking a walker.
Watching it genuinely gave me anxiety, the kitchen is HOT up in Eternus 6
