Stereo with audyssey app

Hello. I recently decided to buy the audyssey license and try and calibrate my 2.0 setup. It’s for a bedroom where I mainly watch tv and my music comes occasionally. I have KEF R3 metas driven by a Denon 3800H. My KEFs are bi-amped.

After doing the calibration on my AVR and going back and fourth between different video sources I’ve come to the conclusion that my speakers lost detail when watching certain things. For example I watch a lot of anime on Crunchyroll (which only plays stereo) and I’ve tried the same shows on hulu (which does try to simulate Dolby surround). My issue is that prior to the calibration I could hear things like background music and smaller further distanced sounds better. Post calibration I seem to find that I only get the same experiences on an app that exclusively plays stereo.

Overall my goal was to try and separate my high frequencies hoping that it would sound better for clarity. I am aware that my issues can be resolved by adding a center or sub, however that’ll come as time will tell.

I’d appreciate if anyone can give me any suggestions to enhance my current setup as best as possible.
